Great stay
Liked: Staff was courteous. Rooms were spacious and clean, as well as the hotel itself. Good restaurant and bar on site. Close to everything KU.
Disliked: $25/ night parking

Quick, enjoyable, convenient to campus!

Disliked: Room did have a slight smell....there were 2 bottle caps on the floor which makes us think it wasn't cleaned that properly.

Would have been a nice...
Liked: Hotel, restaurant's food, and bar were nice; the room was nice as well.
Disliked: I arrived at the hotel and check-in went fine. The lady at the front desk was very nice. She asked if I had a car and needed parking, which I said I didn’t. I then asked if breakfast was included, and she said yes, just to keep it under $30.My stay was all right. The room was really nice and overall, I liked the hotel. I also had dinner at the restaurant. The food was good, and I paid for it with my credit card right there.But when I got home, I noticed over $125 in extra charges on my credit card from the hotel. I called to ask what was going on, and I was told I was charged for parking (which I didn’t use) and also for meals. I explained that I paid for the meals with my credit card directly at the restaurant, so they shouldn’t have been charged to my room. She also mentioned I was charged for breakfast, even though I was told it was included as long as I stayed under $30.She said she’d look into it, but I didn’t hear back. So I called again the next day, and I was told again that I was charged for parking, meals, and breakfast. She said she’d refund some of it. I told her she should refund all of it, since I didn’t use the parking and paid for my meals. The person on the phone was extremely impatient and not nice at all. It honestly felt like she was angry at me, even though it was clearly their mistake.To make things worse, she hung up on abruptly torwards the end of the call with a very hostile "ok.. BYE!" Eventually, I got some of the money back, but not all of it. I’m still missing $40 that they haven’t refunded or explained.I’ve never had anything like this happen before. I strongly recommend steering clear of this place, or at the very least, keep a close eye on your credit card after your stay. You might get charged for things you didn’t pay for.

The place was clean and...
Liked: The location was good
Disliked: There were no towel racks. The beds were creaky and noisy. The air conditioner gave off this blue light that reflected off the ceiling - it was hard to sleep. There was only one microwave in the hotel for all of the guests to use.

It was okay.
Liked: The location was super. We really enjoyed The Nest -- the view and the music. We would have appreciated a bigger bar selection. Our server in the restaurant was very personable and professional.
Disliked: We found the room rather sterile. The use of shutters inside was interesting but all or nothing in their use. The windows in our room had frosted glass when we would have preferred being able to look out. While the service in the restaurant was very good, we found the menu options limited because most were either spicy hot or only offered blacked protein. Flavorful is great; spicy, hot is not. Lawrence, KS, is not Cajun country.
