Liked: Hotel was gorgeous, had amazing curbside appeal. Inside was very nice. Had a restaurant and bar area off the lobby. We enjoyed dinner there and it was good. Service was great. The first room we were put in was not the room I was expecting according to pictures from room details when I booked it. It showed that our room selection would have a nice large tub and it did not. The door was also broken. Once we got it open it hung from the hinge and no longer lined up with the frame to be able to close unless physically picked it up every time and closed it. I went back to the front desk and explained these things and she happily upgraded us to one of the newly remodeled suites on the 6th floor. It had a balcony, a kitchen, a huge bathroom and was very nice. We enjoyed our stay there and the rooftop bar was a nice place to relax and enjoy the nice evening and views.
Disliked: Having to pay for parking, I think the price for the rooms more than pays for being able to park in tje garage. Should be included.

Liked: mother's day weekend it was the cheapest.
Disliked: First time staying here since it switched owners. No more valet parking, the parking is $25 per day and not even secured and not much lighting. I found out from another patron that since I booked through booking.com I didn't earn points. They have old pictures on their website those pictures are from the previous owners. No more on The Hill restaurant, and the restaurant they have is over priced meals. We got to our room shade in bathroom was broken called to have it fixed and we waited 45 minutes maintenance never came. We explored the hotel and both Terraces were closed. All the Terraces looked like they hadn't been used in quite some time with all leaves and trash left out, all the windows on the building are filthy. The bathroom shower curtain is so small it didn't go all the way down to the shower, our room had the holders for shampoo and etc. broken, and some of the bottles were empty. The room I booked from online didn't match my reservation and I booked a room with a terrace it was anything special a few chairs and a mini table, a bumble bee hung around, and tiny red begs everywhere so they don't spray for bugs. Our Terrace also had a window into someone else's room. No breakfast is offered but with their selection going out is better anyway. I usually stay at Marriott and this was cheaper but now I know why.

Liked: First - what a location. A completely unique building situated just on the edge of Kansas University. My room essentially had a view of the football stadium, and the walk to campus was incredibly beautiful. The Hotel is literally just steps from the center of campus. The building is unique and historic, a bit odd, but not clinical or identical to every other hotel you've stayed at. The room was dominated by the king bed, and a very comfortable bed it was. The bathroom was nice, but nothing exceptional. Absolutely no complaints about comfort or cleanliness. All top notch. I would 100% stay there every time I need to visit KU, nothing else is close!
Disliked: There are some issues that could be improved. The parking is under the building and I didn't realize that it had a fee. In the USA you sort of know when you are going to pay for parking, middle of a big city --- you're paying for parking -- Lawrence Kansas (na they don't charge, really?). I think you could park on the street next to the hotel for free, so consider that. The other thing was that my room had breakfast included (as per Booking.com), but was still charged for breakfast, a small slip, but annoying (I didn't check my invoice until a week later). I ordered a Bagel with Lox, and while good, it wasn't lox but crumbled salmon, a little odd. It was still good and the staff were delightful. Still a wonderful place, but little areas to improve upon.

Liked: The staff was amazing and incredibly nice along with the room being spacious and clean
Disliked: Room was close to the elevator so in the morning it was very loud hearing it go up and down.
