Peaceful retreat, with excellent breakfasts

Liked: We were surprised to be given a little apartment to stay in with a kitchen and sitting room as well as the usual bedroom and bathroom! Everything was as expected. Breakfasts were individually prepared and served, and the staff were very friendly.
Disliked: The small step down into the bedroom needs more reminders, as I did have a small fall as a result of forgetting about it. Generally the rooms looked a little tired.

Very good

Liked: The people, the welcome was very friendly, escorted to our room and explained about access after hours, etc. Went to the bar and had sandwiches and a drink, once again very friendly and the food was delicious. Booked in for an evening meal on Friday, the bar and restuarant was very busy, but the staff remained friendly throughout. Was advised there would be a delay on the food due to the volume of people but we were chatting and weren't affected. Food once again was delicious, delivered hot, tasty and well presented. Also had breakfast 2 mornings, lots of options available and my poached eggs on granary were excellent both mornings.
Disliked: Room was rather dark and dated and because of the amount of furniture felt a little cluttered. Having to step up and into the bath to have a shower wasn't the best although we were aware of this when booking. Just felt the rooms could have done with a refresh, deep clean, repaint walls and doors etc

Liked: The location was great for where I was going and the staff were exceptional.
Disliked: No tv in my room was a bit disappointing and the shower kept going hot and cold and the big towel had a hair in it. Apart from that everything was perfect

Lovely relaxing family mini break...

Liked: Bar staff and restaurant staff were lovely. Breakfast and evening meal were very good.Dog friendly exactly as we’d wanted.We had a lovely stay and electric fans were sent to our rooms immediately they were requested.Thank you for a lovely family break.
