Liked: I have PTSD and I’m neurodivergent, so the first night anywhere is always a struggle for me. When I arrived, I was very nervous and quite anxious – and being in a B&B/pub setting felt a bit overwhelming at first.But the warmth and genuine welcome from everyone quickly changed that. The atmosphere was so homely and safe that it really put me at ease. Even at 5 a.m., I could step outside for a cigarette and still feel completely safe – something that’s very different from where I live.The area is central to everything and I think thats a lovely plus! Especially as most famous sites and wonders are near by.The food was delicious, the service and cleanliness impeccable, and the overall environment so friendly and comforting. It’s rare to find a place that feels this secure and welcoming, and I honestly can’t wait to go back again.
Disliked: I’m neurodivergent, the room I stayed in wasn’t the most ideal for me – it was a bit noisy outside, and that can be overwhelming for me personally. Some people might be fine with it, but for me it was a little too much. I hadn’t really thought about that when I was booking, so it’s not their fault at all.When I mentioned it to Tekis she kindly assured me that if anything opened up, I could move rooms, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Now that I’ve stayed, I know exactly which room to request next time for a quieter experience.Apart from that, there’s honestly nothing I didn’t like – it truly felt like a home away from home, just as I said in my review.

Exceptional

Liked: This has got to be the best accommodation in Tintagel. Perfect location between the castle and the town centre. Lovely room with a small but perfectly serviceable en suite bathroom. Great shower. All the facilities that you would expect are included in the room - bottled water, tea, and TV. Friendly staff and the best full Cornish breakfast in the morning. This came after a delicious evening meal enjoyed at the pub the previous night - our compliments to the chef. I have no hesitation in recommending The Olde Malthouse Inn to anyone coming to this part of Cornwall.

Disliked: The room was too small for two people, nowhere to hang anything, or put anything, fire alarm went off due to steam from shower

Exploring Tintagel

Liked: Friendy, food amazing. It's really quirky due to the age of the building. Lovely room tastefully decorated and well thought out design.
Disliked: Can't really find fault. You had to pre-order breakfast, and there was no pen, so I used eyeliner pencil.
