Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Mrs Purdy, Hertfordshire

There was excessive street noise from outside our bedroom which went on until 4.30am. Then a council dust-cart arrived to wake us at 7.45am. The hotel made no effort to move us, listen to us or alleviate our distress in anyway. We had no sleep at all, except for 2 hours between the outside noise abating and the dustcart arriving. The hotel should warn guests beforehand that there is excessive street noise from two pubs outside the room. This hotel wanted our money and cared about nothing else. The reception staff just said sorry, smiled and did nothing.

Liked: Excellent breakfast.
Disliked: Street noise from our room was excessive.

Honour to stay in one...

Liked: We had a sea view, so it was lovely being able to wake up and see that first thing in the morning. The staff were always so lovely and friendly.

Good but not

Liked: Location was great, Bed was comfy, Breakfast was good
Disliked: Paid extra for a sea view except the windows were covered in salt/scum so you couldn't see it and the windows wouldn't open. The balcony opened a tiny bit. There is a beach bar opposite so loud at night and couldn't open balcony so room became very hot overnight.

3 star at a push

Liked: Location and comfy bed
Disliked: Windows wouldn't open enough for ventilation meaning room was ridiculously hot. Shabby decoration, maintenance and furnishings. Cheap instant coffee or plain tea on tea tray with a couple of uht milks. Absolutely not 4 star. At 175 for one night I'd expect more of an effort in the rooms as had clearly been made downstairs.
