The Old Mill

Lovely relaxing stay

Liked: Location was dreamy and from another world. On the Avon. Yet a short walk from town. Our bedroom was overlooking the river with the mill underneath providing a relaxing sound and drowned out human noise too late at night. Bed very comfortable too. We had breakfast which was good quality.
Disliked: The taps were odd. Too close to the sink. Water scoldingly hot. Staff a little inattentive. Tight squeeze to park in car park as non residents allowed in.

Such a lovely stay

Liked: Holly and all the staff were friendly and amazing. The food and drinks were great. We had such a fabulous stay. Breakfast was great too.

A perfect week away in...

Liked: The staff were solicitous and ensured I was comfortable and had all I needed while I was there. Thank you Hollie and Diane, Tracy and Michelle and all the others who contributed to my enjoyment and made sure I was well looked after! I loved my room (7), perfect for one. I loved my view of the river and the social atmosphere of the beer garden. I loved how close it was to Salisbury and the beautiful river walk into town. I loved how clean and fresh all the decor and the bathrooms were. It was all just perfect. Thank you!
Disliked: One day, I made the mistake of waiting until I was very hungry to order dinner and when I finally did, I found the kitchen was closed because they had been overwhelmed. I had to wait two hours to eat! But when I did, it was totally worth it - the food was great, the pizzas outstanding!!

A special place to stay!

Liked: A very beautiful setting and building - a special place. Newly refurbished rooms. View of the mill pond from the window with birds and other wildlife. Soundtrack of the water roaring through the mill race.
Disliked: It was clear that booking systems were still bedding in and were a little problematic. Pity about the dog barking through the night in an adjacent room.

Passable

Liked: Position was amazing and staff very friendly.
Disliked: Our double bed was more like a big single bed. Not great if you have a tall husband. Fittings in bathroom very low quality. Very difficult to wash your hands.

An excellent hotel, well worth...

Liked: The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location was fantastic, right on the Salisbury Water Meadow, 5 minutes walk from Salisbury City Centre.
Disliked: The room was quite warm in Spring with windows open, could get very warm in summer.
