A gem of a place...

Liked: What an absolute gem of a guest house, I am so glad I chose to stay at The Old Manse, I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it. The location is perfect, it’s a short walk to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Station and Pickering town centre. The room we had was lovely, everything you want, even air freshener in the bathroom, which you rarely get. It looked over the garden, we had the window open and we were treated to an owl hooting and the dawn chorus. Val and her team couldn’t have been more lovely and welcoming. Lots of choice for breakfast from kippers to full English, all was delicious. A massive thumbs up from us and thank you for a comfortable relaxing weekend

Exceptional

Liked: Close to Pickering station to go on the NYM railway, close to Pickering castle although council haven’t put up any direction signs for the public yet, close to village, 10 mins away from Helmsley and Thornton Le Dale, 30 mins from Whitby. Lovely host and staff.
Disliked: Only one minor niggle is that the double bed was actually two singles put together so was uncomfortable sat/laid in the middle where the edge of each bed was. Other than that everything top notch.
