The Spotlight on The Old Manor House Hotel

Historic Charm Meets Concert Convenience

Tucked between the vibrant cities of Bath and Bristol, The Old Manor House Hotel is a quaint and character-rich escape for music lovers. Dating back to 1609, it claims the title of the oldest dwelling in Keynsham Village and offers a cozy, traditional atmosphere with oak beams, exposed brick, and the kind of old-world charm that’s hard to find. With free Wi-Fi, free parking, and a short drive to major concert venues in both cities, it’s a peaceful place to unwind before or after the show.

Why Concert-goers love it

Whether you're catching a show in Bath or heading into Bristol, this spot is ideally located—just 15 minutes by car in either direction. After the encore, return to a quiet village setting that lets you actually sleep. Free parking is a major plus for drivers, and while there's no 24-hour transport on-site, local taxis and rideshares are easy to arrange. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM, which gives you time to settle in before an evening event.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a unique stay with personality
- Solo travelers chasing a dream gig in Bath or Bristol
- Couples making a romantic weekend out of a concert
- Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery spot
- Budget-conscious music lovers who appreciate free parking and breakfast

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant serves a classic à la carte menu, ideal for a pre-show dinner. After a late night, you’ll appreciate the full English breakfast served each morning. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the cozy bar with a roaring fire is a great place to wind down, and nearby eateries in Keynsham village are a short walk or drive away.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more about relaxation than raving, it’s just a short drive between two of the UK's most exciting live music cities. Head into Bristol for clubs and afterparties, or keep it low-key at local pubs in Keynsham. The hotel bar is ideal for a nightcap with its historic ambiance and crackling log fire.

What People Say

Guests love the historic feel and say it adds to the experience of their trip. Many mention the friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent breakfast. The peaceful location between two cities gets high marks for being convenient yet quiet.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are packed with character, but some guests find them a little dated. The quirky features, like old safes that no longer work, are more charming than functional. If you’re looking for modern luxury, this may not be your vibe—but if you love atmosphere and history, it’s perfect.

The Bottom Line

A charming and peaceful base for concert-goers who want historic vibes, free parking, and quick access to gigs in both Bath and Bristol.

Superb

Liked: A lovely historical building, if you want to experience true old England it's for you. The room was small but had everything I needed and was very clean. The shower was good and the bed was comfortable. There was a great, tasty selection of cooked breakfasts and served with care by the friendly staff.Situated just of the high street and near the train station. There's a handy Tesco store around the corner too. I came by train but if you need to park I believe there are spaces. This was my second stay and will stay again.

Superb

Liked: Friendly staff, laid back and helpful with our out of hours need for late check in
Disliked: Didn't not like anything just noticed some decorating and maybe floor covering showing some wear. However allowing for the age of the building, original oak beams solid flooring keeping on top of decor must be difficult

Decent value and great food…...

Liked: Location was good for where I needed to be. Parking was super tight for a standard car. Reception staff were very engaging and helpful. Lady on the bar/restaurant was not so much! No real quality of service from her, which was a shame as the food was very good! I was in the bridal suite and it was ok but I wouldn’t exactly call it a “bridal suite” - No shower which was such a shame!
Disliked: No shower! Bar lady was not very good or helpful at all. Room was ok for what I paid but nothing to write home about!

Liked: It's like staying in a time warp. My room reminded me of my headmasters study 60 years ago. Charming
Disliked: Nowhere to plug in your phone next to the bed

Despite the wonderful staff we...

Liked: Staff were really friendly and service was good. Great food in the restaurant and well priced. There was a small car park which was free.
Disliked: Our room was very small and hot. Not possible to open the window which was on a busy roadside. The pillows were hard and uncomfortable consequently we had very little and poor sleep.

A comfortable and welcoming hotel.

Liked: Our room was very clean and very comfortable. We liked the layout of the hotel and the ambiance of the old building. All the staff were very friendly and approachable. We returned to the hotel after the end of the breakfast service at 10am (which we know), however we were provided with toast and juice which was very welcome and absolutely fantastic.
Disliked: The car park at the back is small and when full of cars it is difficult to manoeuvre to be able to drive out through the narrow entrance. Luckily nearly every car had gone by the time we were ready to leave.
