A bed to sleep in...

Disliked: Scruffy, bits of rubbish on the stairs, peeling wall paper, old furniture, stained bed frame, very unpleasant smell in the whole place particularly the room. Massively oversold itself with the promotional photos. This place is tired, virtually empty and did not inspire confidence. If I was travelling alone as a woman I would have immediately found somewhere else to stay I did not feel safe.

Liked: Good location..for a short break..ideal for doggy freindly, couldn't fault the staff very obliging.

"Needs-to-do-Better" Western

Liked: Staff were great and helpful. Location is good if you need somewhere near the M62. It looks great on the photos so potential is there somewhere. Dog-friendly
Disliked: Decor was tired. No hot food - kitchen was "out of commission". Obviously a major issue somewhere which, for a large hotel chain, is unacceptable. Best Western? More like "Needs-to-do-Better Western"

Liked: Breakfast was including but not told on your website it was only Continental, as restaurant closed . Boiled eggs served self device cold I do not expect or enjoy , mattress in comfortable

Liked: Rooms are a little dated but ours was clean and tidy, Nice and quiet so slept well. Staff were great and really helpful and friendly. Location is great, really close to local village amenities.

Overpriced for the basic rooms...

Liked: Location of the hotel was great for what we needed, not far off the motorway and within driving distance of the town centre which has some great restaurants and shops. Ample car parking and EV charger benefits
Disliked: Property was clearly a little older with tired decor, rooms very basic although great that they had a kettle and a hairdryer and the WORST shower I’ve ever experienced, very very poor water pressure, I’m glad I didn’t need to wash my hair during our stay! Beds not overly comfortable, and no requests were met even though they said they would be which was a little annoying but made do. Car charger is a great perk for EV drivers however, please edit your description on here to state that it is an extra premium! A lot of hotels I have stayed in are complimentary with your stay but this one wasn’t. It wasn’t too much to charge however it would be nice for the heads up. No hot food available, and the bar wasn’t open. Not fussed on the food but it would have been nice to sit outside with a drink, instead we had to go into the town which defeated the object of a chilled night in the hotel. There was also a guest (I assume a longer staying one) with a huge muzzled dog who went at us as we walked past. Obviously if your hotel is dog friendly that’s great, however a heads up would have been nice as this was a pretty scary experience. All in all, this wouldn’t be my first choice of hotel if I were to be back in the area

Eventful and overall disappointing.

Liked: They allowed an early check in and the staff were helpful with local knowledge.
Disliked: The shower was very poor - slow, cold running water. We were moved rooms at 2am due to disruption that had been ongoing for 2+ hours. The room we were eventually moved to had not been checked. This room was 2 single beds without pillows in the room and used cleaning clothes were left around the room.
