Liked: We could not find the old Ferry. The reason being it was not only totally covered in scaffolding on the two sides visible from the road but it was also covered in workman. The car park was a building site which we could not enter as it had the builders vehicle in it. It is impossible to park within half a mile of the property unless you cross the Stuart by ferry and leave your car there. It was impossible to park to unload the car plus our two dogs. The builders told us the owner or anyone else was not there. It turns out the Inn doesn’t open until 3pm. We were never told of the scaffolding or works which included stripping part of the roof to one side of the room we should have been staying in which also had scaffolding right up to it. We did the only thing we could do and crossed the estuary and looked for another hotel. It was almost 3 pm and by a miracle saw the sign for The Fowey Hall Hotel. They’re dog friendly and had availability. This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. It is immaculate inside and out with the most charming staff
Disliked: We could not see hotel as covered in scaffolding. We could not park to unload or unpack as there literally was no where to park without blocking the road. The rudeness of the owner who was unapologetic about the state of his hotel and refused to refund me

Liked: Great location, next to the ferryLovely old building with lots of character Newly refurbished room to a good standard, if a little small. Great shower and excellent breakfast
Disliked: Currently under refurbishment. Covered in scaffolding and a bit of a building site but not a problem for our weekend stay
