Average accommodation and food, but...
Liked: The staff were lovely and helpful, easy check in and were made very welcome. They were very busy with the wedding, retirement party plus all other diners, but nothing was too much trouble. Nice beer garden. It was good value for just the one night.
Disliked: The accommodation needs a little TLC, carpets quite worn and bathroom lots of broken tiles, but it was clean. Room was ok but very warm, unfortunately the window won't open very far because the curtain pelmet stops them. Be aware that the motorway is very close and the noise didn't stop all night. Food was only average. There was a wedding on so may want to check this before booking as we had dinner in the bar, which was no problem, but it became very noisy.

Lovely overnight stay
Liked: Staff very friendly and helpfull. Rooms lovely and clean. Nice breakfast.

Liked: Beautiful setting , very good breakfast, staff friendly.
Disliked: Just one fault the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly. There was still excretion around the rim.Was unpleasant.

Good
Liked: Decent location just out of Newport and just a few minutes from M4. Good food, good drink and great service all around. Rooms a good standard but starting to need a bit of TLC to make sure they remain so. Minor niggles only. The ceiling fan was a great boon on some of the hottest nights of the year, so happily a comfortable sleep was had!

Very good value for money...
Liked: The check-in was very quick and easy and the staff member who checked us in was very friendly and accommodating.The beds were comfy and the rooms spacious with a nice-sized en suite.Location was nice with only a short 25 minute drive into Cardiff.
Disliked: The only thing we'd suggest is A/C as there was a fan on the ceiling that only circulated warm air earlier due to it being very warm and muggy. This was due to abnormaly warm weather and not an issue with the hotel itself.*This did not impact our stay*

Very good
Liked: Food excellent on night and reasonable with early bird menu. Room clean and good size.Reception friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Fan in room could of done with air con.Breakfast was very limited I felt and basic. Cooked breakfast was good and served hot.
