Tucked away on Kenilworth’s historic High Street, The Old Bakery is a cozy, traditional hotel with a warm, countryside vibe. This charming property blends classic English character with modern comforts, and it's conveniently located within 6 miles of Warwick Castle and an easy drive from local music venues in Coventry and Birmingham. With free WiFi, private parking, and comfortable family rooms, it’s a great base for a concert-filled weekend.

Why Concert-goers love it

If you're heading to a show at the NEC Birmingham, Ricoh Arena, or FarGo Village, you're in luck—The Old Bakery puts you within a 20–30 minute drive of all three. After a night out, the peaceful location ensures a quiet night’s sleep away from the city noise. With free parking available, it's a great choice for those driving in for a gig, and check-in from 3 PM gives you time to settle in before the music starts.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is on the quieter side, Kenilworth has a handful of local pubs and wine bars perfect for low-key evenings. For those wanting more action, downtown Coventry and Birmingham nightlife are both within easy reach by car or taxi.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the hotel’s friendly staff, clean and cozy rooms, and the peaceful atmosphere. Reviewers also love the central Kenilworth location, making it easy to explore or head out to nearby shows.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the rooms can be compact, and the check-out time of 10:30 AM might feel a bit early after a night out. But overall, most agree the comfort and charm more than make up for it.

The Bottom Line

A quiet and charming retreat for concert-goers who want comfort, convenience, and a touch of classic English charm—without the downtown chaos.

A beautiful hidden gem in...

Liked: An absolutely beautiful place to stay in the Old Town. The staff were welcoming and kind and our room was just perfect. Everything about this place was gorgeous. We also had a delicious breakfast of fresh eggs, fruit and coffee and the chef was kind enough to pack up a sausage sandwich to take with us on our hike.Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Cosy pub rooms in Kenilworth

Liked: The room was extremely clean and comfy and it was very easy to check in! The pub it is attached to has a really lovely vibe, although it was so popular/busy we did not actually get a chance to sit in. The rooms are nicely set back from the main part of the pub, which also meant it was a lot quieter than we had expected, which was a nice bonus!

Great hotel with charm but...

Liked: Slightly off the beaten track but not far from other amenities in the area - great positioning if you are going to Stoneleigh Exhibition site. Nice bar area and a great breakfast with plenty of choice. Room was comfortable and spacious - even though I had gone for a single room - also not too far from the castle if this is on your places to visit in the area.
Disliked: The parking for the site is not clear and is hidden at the back of the property and only has room for about 5 cars - I was lucky but it was not designed with modern cars in mind. The room that I stayed in had been an office or such like prior to being used as a bedroom - plugs right next to the bed on the wall highlighted this was a minor grumble but the main two issues that the property needs to address is the non-existent free wi-fi and no food served on site in the evening - when you have travelled some distance you do not want to go far - had to go looking for a restaurant/pub.
