The Oakland Hotel is a family-run budget hotel located in the center of the riverside town of South Woodham Ferrers 15 miles from Southend-on-Sea. Close to the River Crouch all rooms have private bathrooms. Rooms feature a TV tea/coffee making facilities hairdryers and have free WiFi access. Oakland Bar is open daily and also shows live sporting events. On Friday and Saturday nights the bar has live music or a DJ until 01:00. Quieter rooms can be provided on request but are subject to availability. The hotel is 15 minutes from South Woodham Ferrers Rail Station while South Woodham Swimming Pool and the Club Woodham Fitness are only a minutes' walk away. The hotel is within easy reach of A127 A12 and M25. The Hotel has easy access to the Olympic Stadium with trains from South Woodham Ferrers to Stratford taking 45 minutes.

Liked: Breakfast (full English) superb. As soon ordered it was there freshly cooked and more than ample.Hotel location great for joining major road systems to explore .

Apart from being on the...

Liked: Rooms were very well ventilated, with opening windows, and a good fan! Bed with very comfortable.
Disliked: As I am disabled it was hard to clime the 4 stairways leading to our rooms, and I could not use the shower as it was over a bath which I could not get in !

Very good

Liked: The staff were very nice, and the breakfast was very good.However, during our stay, there was a rock concert on the property that lasted until midnight.Our room was located directly above where the concert took place.We were informed about the concert beforehand and were told that closing the window would minimize the noise.Unfortunately, that was not the case — the noise was still quite loud till 12 pm
