Good stop over with dog
Liked: All staff were very friendly. The room was ideal for me and my dog, with close access to a grass area. Everything was very clean and the bed comfortable.
Disliked: Having coeliac disease, I would hope that the menu will be developed to include more GF options. I had steak, which was good, but with only peas and a salad, as they only had chips, which were not GF. The one GF desert on the menu, chocolate brownie, was lovely.

Friendly Staff, Tricky Room Design
Liked: Though the room was adequate, a low bathroom mirror and a beam above the bed posed challenges, yet it sufficed for a one-night stay. The excellent breakfast and friendly staff made the experience enjoyable.

What is going on?
Liked: Room was good, very clean and comfortable bed
Disliked: Breakfast was dreadful on first morning - sausage was not browned off at all and looked as though it wasn't cooked thoroughly (even my dog turned her nose up at it), the tinned mushrooms were luke warm, the egg had runny white, the 'half" a slice of bacon was edible along with the beans and toast. The coffee burnt my mouth and was obviously instant made with boiling water, which in this day and age is a big no no.The evening meal was also a big disappointment - just sub par. My husband asked the waitress if the kitchen could make me a Eton Mess for dessert, to be told they didnt know what an Eton Mess was???? The bar staff couldn't/wouldn't even make us a cocktail. The food was just not good at all! So much so, me and the rest of the party i was with ate at The Old Mill for the rest of our stay, and of course, drank there as well (your loss).

Poor
Liked: The food was good except they were busy so ran out of some food items. Was very dog friendly and easy to find with plenty of parking.
Disliked: The only problem was some of the other guests were very drunk and.noisy. we asked for a sandwich on Sunday evening but they.refused to.do.any.

Rooms ideal for a couple...
Liked: We have stayed here four times and this time it has been under new management. The place has gone downhill. Although the rooms are still fine (albeit a little rough around the edges) this is thanks to the lovely lady who cleans them. The breakfast was substandard (full English) and the dinner menu was mediocre, we actually ate down the road the second night. The whole place is sadly going downhill.
Disliked: Covered above!
