Lovely country Inn in a...

Liked: This is a beautiful and historic Inn located close to the major routes to the city but still maintaining its country village charm. Convenienty located near to the Lunt Roman Fort and the Air Museum (both walking distance). Plenty of parking, good and sensibly priced food and drink and very friendly staff. One thing deserves a special mention. My wife is partially disabled and we were given the accessible room on the ground floor. I have never seen a hotel room so well equiped for less able guests. I would highly recommend it for anyone traveling with elderly or disabled relatives or companions.

Disliked: Terrible experience – refund still not received after hotel cancellation!I had a booking at The Oak Hotel (Booking Number 4646743242) for April 2025. Just before my stay, I was informed by the hotel that there would be no hot water available, and they offered to cancel my reservation with a full refund of £140.94 promised within seven days.However, more than a month later, I still have not received my refund. Despite repeated assurances, there has been no communication or resolution from the hotel’s side. This is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of professionalism and responsibility towards guests.I strongly advise future guests to be cautious when booking this hotel, as they do not seem to honor their commitments or care about customer satisfaction. Extremely disappointed and frustrated with this experience!

Cheap hotel, however, let down...

Liked: Large pub with friendly and helpful staff. We were able to stay in the bar area and conduct business without any pressure to keep buying food and beverages.
Disliked: Unfortunately, the room and bar area smelt of dogs. I love dogs, but not where people eat and drink. I also was not a fan of the waitress feeding one of the customers dogs with the scraps from a plate - yuck !
