Liked: Professional, courteous staff. Clean room, in fact, the entire building (at least those parts we were in) was clean and well maintained. Great location.

Beautiful room; great service; friendly staff; clean pool; easy access to Hard Rock Cafe and terminal market place. Walked to Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and Jewelers Row. Only drawback was the parking price and wait. Would refer to friends.

Liked: Wonderful room; clean; friendly service.
Disliked: Car valet wait and cost.

No stress

Liked: Location and room.
Disliked: We experienced several issues with our reservation. First, I paid through Booking.com and was later charged again at reception. I currently have two unresolved charges, one from Booking and another from the hotel, and so far I have received no response. The reservation was supposed to include breakfast, but to my surprise, it only consisted of a $75 voucher for 4 people, which is clearly insufficient considering the prices. Eventually, the manager admitted that the information published on the Booking portal is the hotel’s responsibility and not Booking’s, and after reviewing it, we were given full breakfast access.Later, a staff member claimed that my underage daughter had gone alone to breakfast at 7:00 a.m. I can assure you that this is not true: first, because a child would never go to breakfast alone, and second, because it is extremely difficult to wake her up that early during vacation. ;)In conclusion, the experience highlighted a lack of organization at the reception desk, poor internal communication, and the need for improvements in the front desk staff’s service. Although solutions were eventually found, the overall experience was quite stressful.

Thumbs down - would not...

Liked: Location.
Disliked: Multiple problems. To start, tried to charge more than I had confirmed for and when I questioned told me Booking had lied to me. The room was not clean: hair in tub from before my check-in. Replaced towels and made bed, period. Left trash uncollected. Never wiped off any crumbs or such from surfaces. Not all amenities worked: when I tried to use the iron on steam it leaked ALL the water out onto board and clothing. The refrigerator leaked water onto food and puddled below onto floor at front (left to puddle all the time I was there). The floors were dirty. Just awful.

The hotel is in an...

Liked: The Notary Hotel has an excellent location — perfect for exploring Philadelphia and close to many attractions. Our room was very large, which we appreciated, but the design felt underwhelming. It seemed like a mediocre renovation, with old toilets and showers that felt cheaply done. The room itself was dark and not well lit, which made it feel a bit gloomy. On the positive side, the cleaning staff and bell boys were incredibly friendly and helpful — truly the highlight of the stay. The front desk staff was a mixed experience, depending on who you happened to get. Overall, the hotel didn’t really give that warm, “at home” feeling, which was disappointing given its potential.
Disliked: The overall atmosphere lacked warmth and welcome.
