Ideal for a one night...

Liked: Great central location, with onsite parking. After hours access so we could come and go at times that suited us. There was a bar and diner attached (although we didn’t have the opportunity to try what was available due to staying just one night). Staff were helpful.
Disliked: The decor is in need of a refresh.

A tired hotel but with...

Liked: The evening meal albeit not in a restaurant was actually extremely tasty!
Disliked: The general ambiance of the Hotel is tired! The en-suite needs an overhaul and almost all of the rooms downstairs were unlit and unwelcoming!

Disliked: Tap marked hot, produced cold water. Tap marked cold, produced warm, not hot water. Shower was not too good. Water not hot., even at the maximum setting. Probably due to heavy use at the time of day, if the water was being drawn from a tank.

Worst place to stay and...

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: First room offered was dirty, dated and extremely shabby. Second room was only marginally better but they had nothing else. Bed was clean but extremely noisy when you moved in it. No hot water at all despite reporting to the staff and a man coming to the room to tell me to wait 20 minutes while the tank got hot again. Water never got hot, not even in morning when I reported again. Someone came up and told me it was as good as it was going to get as it’s an old system. Definitely not hot enough to shower or hair wash. This property is not fit for purpose, it’s extremely old and basically a dump. I wouldn’t put my worst enemy in this place.

Liked: Location was ideal in the heart of the town.
Disliked: Disappointed that the hotel restaurant closed for meals at 8pm. We had then to go out to find somewhere to eat.
