Wouldn’t go back.

Liked: Room was comfortable. Fire in bar was good. Receptionist was lovely.
Disliked: Room was above bar and smoking area. Bar door open and noisy at night. Barking and whining dogs outside on our first night.

Great hotel for cyclists

Liked: We cycled to the hotel and special arrangements were made for us to safely store our bikes during our stay. We enjoyed the self service laundry facilities nearby. The food was fantastic! The staff were very professional and friendly and the location was great.
Disliked: Everything was perfect.

most enjoyable relaxing stay in...

Liked: The room was spacious clean and very comfortable. breakfast excellent and evening meal very satisfying. we ate in the bar on the first evening which was ideal for us after a long drive. staff were excellent particularly Michael the bartender who was very knowledgeable and very welcoming.
Disliked: nothing particular springs to mind.

It was alright but wouldn't rush back.

Liked: The porridge at breakfast was terrible. The bacon (1 rasher was pretty burnt) Scrambled eggs I would say was only Scrambled EGG. The tea and toast served first and cold by the time you get your cereal/porridge finished. I think they should ask when you would like this. Half empty marmalade pots, and first morning no cups on table for the tea. Also a half empty coffee pot from the last guests at the table. We did like the staff though they were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: We were staying two nights and the room didn't get serviced - the Receptionist did apologise for this but was a wee bit annoyed a tip of around 9 was charged on the bill, although the other staff did deserve a tip. I think it is better to let the guest decide on how much and it not to be included on the bill.
