Great location for tennis tournament.
Liked: Almost across the street from the tennis center for the Eastbourne tennis tournament. A block from the beach walk. Ten minutes walk to the pier. Five minutes walk to the bandstand; great brass band concert and fireworks.
Disliked: No one on site. Doesn’t serve breakfast anymore. Room smelled like mildew. No a/c. Done away with honesty bar.

Needs improvement
Liked: The location is great and the check-in is easy.
Disliked: The room was very hot. Only one small window could be opened and this was broken so I had to prop it open with a book. While using the towel I was given in the morning I discovered it had some red stains on it. The bed was quite uncomfortable.

Awful
Liked: The front room was nice
Disliked: Our bedroom. As we walked in it smelled like fish, the stink was coming from the bathroom shower sink plug. The window was permanently locked. When you went into the bedroom the bed was made of 2 x 3ft bed hooked together in very poor condition/ all ripped around the edges. The mattress was dipped heavy in the bottom, the had see better days. There was a wooden blinds on the window, followed by a roller blind followed by heavy curtains that looked like blankets why all. ???.Only 1 small window opened up about 8 inches. All other windows had not been opened for a long time. So if there was a fire you would not get out of the windows. Very small shelf that tilted and the kettle moved to the end when boiling, not good. Otherall 0 out of 10. Good not ring anyone because it was a key card. Did complain shortly afterwards to booking.com to ask for the money back and was told NO.

NEVER AGAIN NEVER AGAIN!!!!!’
Liked: Location- quite close to the sea front
Disliked: My stay in this property was my worst nightmare. From the check in day till check out. So basically i checked in with my family in Room 3, on a Saturday evening, i was welcomed with a sight of a section of the ceiling plaster crumbling. The room was quite cold on the day of check in, i felt like i was at the arctic. i requested for the heating to be turned on as i got a toddler with me but i was met with a full resistance from one of the staff member saying central heating is usually not on at this time of year, he didn’t take into account the temperature dropped on that particular day cuz it was quite windy and rained heavily on the check in day. He dragged his foot to accept the request, finally set to room temperature to 23 degrees I also had of the cleaning staff who knocked just twice without waiting for any response and open my door while family and I were still in bed sleeping- so angry but i maintained my cool.Unfortunately, i checked out a Monday bank holiday morning but forgot a kettle plug lead for my baby’s food warmer, so i had to call a phone number provided by the hotel as it is currently not staffed not even a receptionist. I was told no one is available to get me into the property till Wednesday. You will expect they have a staff on ground incase of emergency entry/exit but NOPE. Quite surprised cuz i had to travel back to london same day, how do i come back to eastbourne just for a kettle plug lead? quite a shit show. NEVER AGAIN AND I WILL NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO PATRONISE EXCEPT CHANGES ARE MADE.

My stay in the Mowbray...
Liked: It was quiet and the bathroom was adequate.
Disliked: They advertise breakfast, but once the room was booked and paid for my request for not eating meat was answered with they don't serve breakfast at this time! I didn't see a breakfast room, even an unused one, so believe they don't serve breakfast at all, but advertise themselves as doing so! This must be changed in the Booking.com website! Because I get the impression that this is fraud on the hotel owner's part!As there was no staff to ask, I didn't see the lift at the back of the building and lugged my suitcase up two long flights of stairs. And when I entered my room, the afternoon sun was shining in and it was boiling! There were three windows and finally I found one that one could open, but they are sash windows and through the Venetian blind that I couldn't raise I struggled to open that window. I was completely soaked with sweat by then and had to wash and change before I could go and meet a new friend I had made on the train from Gatwick in his hotel, The View, at the promenade, where they serve dinners in the bar and lounge area. And breakfast for outside customers too! So, on the three mornings of my stay I could have breakfast there, paying for it, and it was excellent!

Disappointment
Liked: Not much at all.
Disliked: Extremely small hardly any room for our cases. Shower tiny, water pressure no existent, shower falling apart, reading light didn’t work. No staff or reception very disappointing stay won’t ever go back. Website misleading.
