Liked: Great location by Davis Square near Tufts University, Metro Red Line & dining. Great classic bed and breakfast home & neighborhood.

B&B in a quiet residential...

Liked: It's in a quiet residential neighborhood, very close to the T and many shops and restaurants. The Boston Commons is about a 20 min T ride from the Davis station. It's an old historic house with three floors. This is a Bed & Breakfast, not a hotel, so you should expect a B&B atmosphere. It has a nice dining area and living room. Most people hang out there as opposed to staying in their rooms. From the guest book, I can see there were a lot of repeat guest stays. We met a lot of people and had great conversations with other folks staying there. I would definitely recommend it if this is the type of experience you are looking for.
Disliked: Unfortunately we were assigned the Winter Hill room. This is on the ground floor and right next to the dining area. This ia also between the proprietor's office and the dining area, so you will hear him in the morning when setting up. You will also hear the people in the dining room. If you are a light sleeper and not an early riser this could be an issue. Also as it is an old house, there are creaky stairs and other noises from an old house. This wasn't a big issue for us, since we did get up early. I think if we wanted to sleep in, I would have asked for a room on another floor. I also think it was a little pricey compared to other options in the area. I think it could have been a tad bit less expensive.Said, this, if we stayed in Boston we would consider staying there again.

Liked: The room was clean and very nice. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was nice too
Disliked: The only downside is that they made me pay an extra for my 8 month old baby and a 3 year old toddler. It was just $15 per child per night (extra $90 in three nights plus taxes) but still, we travel a lot with children and we have never experienced this before. It’s unfair

Liked: Lovely large room on first floor with king bed and two murphy beds, desk, extra sink outside bathroom, well-appointed bathroom, great pressure in shower, two terry robes, very good coffee, breakfast provided, extremely comfortable, everything very neat and spic and span, great location adjacent to Davis Square and the subway (can easily get to South Station in Boston on the Red Line), very nice hosts -
