Delightful

Liked: It was so unusual and had everything you’d need to relax for a few days

comfortable stay.

Liked: Cork is very hilly and the hotel was at the top of the hill, hence the panoramic view from the restaurant.It was a 20min walk to the local Glen River Park run and an easy downhill walk to the centre.Staff were very friendly and helpful.Restaurant food was good.
Disliked: our room was ground floor to the back with a view of a mirrored wall 1 metre away, hence the room was quite dark. the window only opened a crack for security but the A/C was good and quiet.The food was good but our order was mismanaged on 3 occasions; wrong pre dinner drink, wrong wine and wrong main course! All corrected.The next night we had an overlong wait to place our order.

Lovely hotel but not customer-centricity...

Liked: Location , quality of food and beverages, friendly concierge and wait-staff
Disliked: - not all rooms are air-conditioned and this is not stated anywhere on the website at the time of booking . You may or may not be allotted an air conditioned room depending on hotel occupancy - we were finally moved to an AC room but not before having a rather long and uncomfortable conversation with the manager , who seemed more intent on upselling a suite rather than accommodating a guest’s health needs .

Liked: We made full use of everything – the cinema, jacuzzi, pool, sauna and steam room – and loved every bit of it!! Our stay was for our anniversary, and the hotel made it extra special by leaving a handwritten note saying congratulations along with a lovely tart dessert. The room was fabulous, spotlessly clean, and the gardens were absolutely spectacular. Having a drink in the “Glass House” at night was such a memorable experience. This is a truly beautiful hotel, clearly very well cared for, and the staff really make you feel looked after. It definitely deserves a 5-star rating – we were genuinely shocked to learn it’s only rated as 4!
Disliked: A couple of small things: we felt the staff (door staff) were a bit “overly nice” in a way that came across as a little forced, like they were trained to take too much interest in our personal business. The receptionist also gave us the wrong timings for the cinema and breakfast, though thankfully the card in the room had the correct info which was really handy. Dinner was very expensive, which is the main reason we didn’t dine in. These issues were very minor and didn't effect our stay.
