The Monarch

Disappointing experience in Mariposa.

Liked: Property is located in a small tourist town of Mariposa with several restaurants within walkable distance. Town map and restaurant recommendations were provided by staff.
Disliked: Overall, Monarch Inn was the most expensive, yet the least pleasant hotel I experienced during my road trip through California.Room was average size with no hangers or closets to put cloths. There were also no plugs available to connect appliances. The old drawers and TV were in need of replacement. The hotel is next to a main road and apart of the sounds from neighbouring rooms I could hear every car passing by while trying to fall asleep. Provided earplugs demonstrated the hotel is aware of the sound problem, yet does not fix it.No breakfast was available.

Pleasant 2-night stay.

Liked: Location. Car parking. 24 HR reception. Clean and tidy.
Disliked: Bed!!!Old soft uncomfortable bed.Reception drinks poor....no coffee, no hot water, orange juice just like water.

Disliked: Pool wasn’t available, cable didn’t work in room so we had to move from two queen beds to one and a pull away twin bed which wasn’t great for our family of 5, new room was also smaller.
