Disliked: Very hot in the lodge due to heatwave

Far cry from what English...

Liked: Staff is very nice and hard working. Seems extremely understaffed though.
Disliked: Run by l+r hotels. Faceless management of whom nobody is on site. Stayed in the old manor and it was heartbreaking. All the furniture is run down and partially broken, the carpets stained and rubbish everywhere. The bathrooms are far from what you’d expect with this asking price. No streaming on television.There was a problem and it was impossible to get a hold of anyone in charge. There is barely any staff.

Superb

Amazing stay full of tranquality...

Liked: Everything, location, peacefulness of the entire place, one can experience real tranquility. The breakfast service was excellent with the new combination of self- service for coffee, croissants and toasts and breakfast service. We always come back to this place and always recharge - thank you.
Disliked: Nothing

Relaxing, tranquil with stunning views

Liked: It was stunning, the views were amazing and it was relaxing
Disliked: The bathroom needs updating a walk in shower would be more beneficial than a tired bath and shower. The fact the outside pool was not open during our stay and I had not been prewarned as it was one of the reasons for booking

A comfortable resort hotel in...

Liked: The breakfast was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the sausages and the black pudding. My room was comfortable as was the bed. I am over 70 and not as spritely as I was. It was nice to see that the bath was fitted with three grab handles to assist getting out - much appreciated,
Disliked: I specifically told my waiter that I was allergic to tomatoes and to please not serve my steak with the tomato mentioned on the menu. It is only a mild allergy but I was disappointed when my steak came with a tomato slapped on top. This was rapidly rectified and an apology was passed on from the kitchen.

Disappointing, not worth the value,...

Liked: The room was comfortable enough although no ac and not great soundproofing. Also no fridge in room which would have been very useful. Restaurant food was surprisingly decent
Disliked: The restaurant staff was incredibly inefficient. The changing rooms for the spa had black mould in them. The hot tub was out of order. The pool wasn’t very pleasant to use as pool staff had their friends over who were loud and kept jumping in pool (which is not allowed) and being a general nuisance. No towels provided either at “spa”. Gym equipment seemed to be covered in layers of age old sweat, quite sticky all around. Waited on average 35 mins for a single drink at the bar. Apart from one lovely lady at breakfast everyone else was quite rude. Frequent power cuts at dinner were a nuisance. Fine to stay if you just want a room but then not worth the value. I chose this hotel as I thought spa would be nice, but quite the contrary. Restaurant/ bar wait times and service was generally terrible. Room without ac and mini fridge quite uncomfortable in hot weather. Tap water in room also not drinkable.
