Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything — and The Midland nails it. You’re less than 400 metres from some of Manchester’s biggest music venues, meaning you can walk to gigs without worrying about transport. Despite its central spot, the hotel maintains a peaceful atmosphere, offering a quiet retreat after the encore. The 3:00 PM check-in and 11:00 AM check-out times give you plenty of flexibility around your concert schedule.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s unbeatable central location, luxurious rooms, and exceptional dining experiences. The spa is a frequent highlight, especially for those wanting to relax before heading to a show. Staff are often praised for being friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall stay.

Areas for Improvement

While the hotel’s spa is a fantastic amenity, access comes with an extra charge, which some guests find a little surprising. Also, parking is not included and can be pricey nearby, so plan ahead if you’re driving.

The Bottom Line

If you want a luxurious, central base with excellent food, serene vibes, and easy access to Manchester’s music scene, The Midland is a top pick.

A few hiccups but otherwise...

Liked: The location was good. Breakfast was good selection. Bar area nice and staff good. We had a problem and reception sorted although due to room problem would of expected maybe a room change rather than 2 free drinks
Disliked: The door frame had a screw which was sharp and made a hole in my dress. (This was addressed by the reception) should have been asked whether we wanted to move. It was sanded down but then looked unsightly for a top end hotel. Reception did tell us about parking but said could be done on leaving of which we left until next day then had to pay the £35 parking…. Make sure parking down on arrival staff should be updated of this.

The Midland was disappointing. Stay...

Liked: Great location, looks really good from outside. Great lobby and bar facilities.
Disliked: This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. Our first room, the air con did not work. We were moved to another room. The fridge door was broken, the USB ports did not work. The hotel has a spa that you need to book but provides no slippers or robes for this facility. The staff were somewhat abrupt when I enquired about robes. Breakfast was a buffet, self service. Poor.

Terrible nights sleet but good...

Liked: The guest relations managers was very good at solving the issues I had on the night. Breakfast service was very good and good quality
Disliked: The first room I was given had not even been cleaned, the next 2 rooms, the air con wasn't working and rooms were 30 degrees hot. Then on the 4th move the room was great, the air con worked, but I was kept awake until 1am because the trams then again woken up at 5.30am. I just did not sleep. I checked in at 5pm and didnt get into a room until 6.40pm
