GREAT WEEKEND AT THE MIDLAND

Liked: Our room was at the top of the building, on the 6th floor, so heard no traffic. Room was well equipped, welcoming and clean. Bathroom was spotless - it looked like it had recently been retiled. Plenty of choice at breakfast time in the restaurant and was very tasty. We both had a cooked breakfast - some items were not as hot as we would have liked, but this is to be expected; the staff have no control over that part. The location of the hotel is central, so we were able to walk to where we wanted to go. After saying that, we did take the tram on the Sunday, as people were arriving for the Manchester Marathon so the streets were getting busy. The tram stop was more or less right outside the hotel - ideal. We were booked in for afternoon tea on the Saturday afternoon - OMG, it was absolutely beautiful! We couldn't eat everything, so we were given a doggy bag to take back to our room.
Disliked: Apart from certain hot food items not being as hot as would have liked at breakfast time (this is to be expected when its a self-service cooked breakfast) everything else was wonderful.

Disliked: Couldn’t open the window! I like fresh air in a bedroom.

Very poor

Disliked: Not a good enough standard to meet this price - bathrooms need to be updated - shower hardly worked and couldn’t drain water out of the bath as the plug was broken. At breakfast my food was cleared away as I went back to get a drink. An hour to use the pool feels pointless and £7 for room service each time … not good

We will definitely go again!

Liked: Ideal location for most things you’d want to do in the City. Beautiful building and well maintained. Staff are professional, attentive and friendly. The spa is wonderful, I highly recommend it! Well worth the money.
Disliked: There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
