With stylish air-conditioned rooms, a luxurious spa, and a fantastic range of dining options, it’s the perfect base for concert-goers looking for a touch of elegance before and after the show.
Bridgewater Hall, the Palace Theater, and Manchester Central are all within an easy stroll, while shops, bars, and late-night spots are just a 10-minute walk away.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything — and The Midland nails it. You’re less than 400 metres from some of Manchester’s biggest music venues, meaning you can walk to gigs without worrying about transport. Despite its central spot, the hotel maintains a peaceful atmosphere, offering a quiet retreat after the encore. The 3:00 PM check-in and 11:00 AM check-out times give you plenty of flexibility around your concert schedule.

  • Plenty of nearby bars, lounges, and clubs in the city centre
  • Mount Street Bar offers a sophisticated, chill vibe if you prefer staying in

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s unbeatable central location, luxurious rooms, and exceptional dining experiences. The spa is a frequent highlight, especially for those wanting to relax before heading to a show. Staff are often praised for being friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall stay.

Areas for Improvement

While the hotel’s spa is a fantastic amenity, access comes with an extra charge, which some guests find a little surprising. Also, parking is not included and can be pricey nearby, so plan ahead if you’re driving.

The Bottom Line

If you want a luxurious, central base with excellent food, serene vibes, and easy access to Manchester’s music scene, The Midland is a top pick.

Lovely hotel

Liked: Staff helpful
Disliked: We emailed to request a change of room and it was not picked so it caused a problem with our booking and there was no option to change rooms on the day .

Stay was fine just a...

Liked: Hotel facilities were good. Liked the gym. Breakfast was good.
Disliked: AC in the room was not working on my first night. Coupled with a very heavy duvet on the bed meant I was overheating and slept poorly as a consequence. The AC was sorted the following morning. I thought the property was a little 'tired' - e.g. stair carpets are threadbare in places, room windows were scruffy, bathroom mirror (Rm #329) was showing signs of age (or water damage). Mid-afternoon, when looking for a cup of tea and a cake/bun/scone, there was no option.

Beautiful hotel, ambience and facilities,...

Liked: The room was lovely and spacious with modern facilities. Upon arrival the hotel smells lovely and all throughout the corridors has a wonderful scent. The gym is well equipped and much better than most hotels. The spa is perfect for a nice tranquil relaxing treatment with lots of relaxation spaces and the staff in there were nicer than elsewhere in the hotel. Negative is that the sauna is tiny - it barely fits 4 people and the spa pool didn't bubble for periods of about 20 mins. The hot stone massage was a treat but the treatment room was very cool at times with the air con going up and down.
Disliked: I found the bar staff to be discriminatory. I failed to make eye contact with any of the 4 staff for about 30 minutes as they went out of their way not to look at me. I eventually had to tell a server that I would like the menu so I can place an order whilst she was serving the table next to me. I saw other people come in after me and get served before me. If it wasn't because I am black it could be because I was a lone woman, but I sensed it was the former. When I finished my meal I had to go to the bar to pay as I no one checked on me after I ate.
