Good
Liked: Close to town centre
Disliked: That you have decided to go cashless. You should allie cashless. Very disappointing. Because I budget my finances. Because you decided to cashless, I wouldn't go to the bar because of it. .

Charming property and great staff,...
Liked: The property was overall lovely, with a nice blend of modern updates and historic charm in the common areas. Lemon and iced water was always available in the lobby, and the front desk staff were consistently excellent—super attentive. The lobby restaurant/bar was also great, with good food. It’s close to the train station (though not directly connected to the Manchester airport line). During our stay, we saw several weddings and family celebrations. With the grand carpeted staircase leading to the lobby, the hotel held a special celebratory vibe to it.
Disliked: I stayed here on an extended work trip. While the hotel has charm and the front desk staff were consistently helpful, my experience was mixed. My first room was outdated with broken USB ports and no fridge, while coworkers had more updated rooms with better amenities. I switched to a newer room, but it was smaller and still lacked a fridge. It wasn’t the time of year where we’d need it but there’s no air conditioners in any of the rooms. I could see this being difficult during the hotter months of the summer.Housekeeping could be improved. Dirty cups weren’t refreshed daily, and bedding wasn’t changed during my long stay. A coworker also mentioned trash was occasionally overlooked. The on-site pub looked great but was only open during local soccer matches; so it never opened during our 2 week stay. The larger dining room area was spacious, but unfortunately the hallway leading to it had an unpleasant urine smell, which was bad enough to make it a non-option for our group.Overall, standout front desk staff and a hotel with potential, but not quite reliable enough for a business traveler expecting consistency.
