Awful hotel with below average...

Liked: Walking out of the door in the morning
Disliked: Didn?t like the poor carpark. The staffs attitude, and reluctance to help me find an alternative carpark, I chose this hotel for the fact it is central, and has a carpark, instead I ended up parking in a multi story carpark for an excessive amount. I brought this up with the hotel clerk, asking if anything compensation could be received due to this, to which her response was no. The hotel was dated, the bathroom floor was wet through in the morning, due to a leaking pipe under the sink. I?m not an easily put off person, but when I pay as much as I did, I would expect some help/respect/compensation from the hotel, I then checked out quite easily in the morning and made my 10 minute walk in the freezing cold to the multi story carpark. Not impressed at all

Cheap and cheerful, I would...

Liked: Staff were superb En suite excellent On site, cheap car park.
Disliked: One light switch that operates all lights in the room, no bedside lights, so lights are either all on or all off. Only windows in room look into central well of the building which was strewn with rubbish and guano. Main lift out of action for duration of stay. Only Wi-Fi in lounge downstairs.

Warm, friendly, interesting, a bit...

Liked: Very comfy bed, warm friendly hotel, welcoming staff, brilliant singer (Chelsea Scott?)downstairs in evening entertainment. We were just looking for a cheap place for the night but the Metropole was great. And it's the only hotel by the sea in Blackpool. For my first time in Blackpool it was a great introduction
Disliked: There was a bit of a drainy smell in the foyer at one point, it may have been the cold weather affecting the plumbing.

Booked late and there were...

Liked: We made this booking late and when we arrived we were told there were no rooms. They said booking.com are always doing this, taking bookings but no rooms. I said I had been using booking.com for years and had never had any issues before. The staff were friendly and helpful and one gentleman told us he might have one room and would go and look at it to see if it was okay. He took us down to show us the room and it was absolutely fine. It had a double bed and two small beds. It was spotless and comfortable, we both slept well.
Disliked: Nothing
