Disappointing Stay Due to Noise

Disliked: We travel to Ottawa often for our children’s sports tournaments, and this was the first time we decided to stay at a local hotel.Everything about our stay was wonderful, except for the most important part: sleep. We have been awake since 4 AM due to over an hour of loud ranting and disturbances from the street.I’m extremely upset and disappointed, as this completely ruined our rest before a long day of games and travel. I truly wish we had been placed in an interior room away from the street noise.

Liked: The hotel interior design looks really nice and up to date. Gorgeous. It smells goog when you get inside the hotel. Staff was friendly and car valet very effective.
Disliked: For the price we paid a night 400$ with tax, there was a wedding booked that we did not know about, which sis okay I love weddings I don't mind! But the rooms are poorly soundproof, , even without the wedding going on we could hear the elevator ding and sound and people talking from the open space, so all night long we could hear people downstair and in the hallway running, talking and laughing until 3 am. People were trying to get in the wrong rooms (ours) instead of theirs. As I said I don't mind weddings but customers should be advise prior to their arrival that there might be a lot of noise. So we haven't slept until 3:30 am. The point of that hotel night was to be restful.We also didn't like the fact that no one mentioned us the parking was not free and told us at the end of the stay once it was charge.

Need better staff but can...

Liked: Room are decent and well designed Staff can be so so , one was really good , the other could care less and happy to brush you off Breakfast restaurant staff quite in experienced in the field of hosting and can come across as rude ?
Disliked: Need better professional staff at reception and restaurant Breakfast can’t be only until 9:00 am ! Never seen this in any hotel around the world , quite strange
