The Spotlight on The Met Hotel Leeds

Classic Elegance in the Heart of Leeds

Modern comfort meets historic charm at The Met Hotel Leeds, a Grade II listed gem just a 3-minute walk from Leeds Rail Station. Perfectly placed in the city center, this hotel offers a warm, stylish escape with free WiFi throughout, a sleek gym, and the locally-sourced Tempus Bar and Restaurant. Whether you're in town for a gig or a weekend getaway, The Met delivers classic vibes with a modern twist.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is key, and The Met Hotel places you just minutes from many of Leeds’ top music venues. After a high-energy night, it's a short stroll back to your room—no taxis or long walks needed. Late check-in from 15:00 makes pre-show planning easy, and with the train station only steps away, getting in and out of the city is a breeze. Despite its central spot, the hotel maintains a peaceful atmosphere for that much-needed post-concert wind-down.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish base close to the action
  • Solo travelers ticking off a bucket-list show
  • Couples planning a romantic concert weekend
  • Fans wanting quiet after a loud night out
  • Budget-conscious music lovers seeking value in a central location

Food and Drink Options

Fuel up before the show or satisfy late-night cravings at the on-site Tempus Bar and Restaurant, which features locally sourced ingredients and a cozy atmosphere. While 24/7 room service isn’t available, the central location means you're within walking distance of late-night eateries and cafes. Breakfast is served onsite and is perfect for those slower mornings after a late gig.

Nightlife Options

Being in the heart of Leeds means you're surrounded by pubs, bars, and lounges. While The Met doesn’t offer live music itself, its proximity to buzzing nightlife makes it a prime choice for those wanting to continue the vibe. The Tempus Bar is a great spot for a pre-drink or a nightcap, with a relaxing atmosphere and local drink options.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the central location, friendly staff, and elegant interiors. Many reviewers highlight how easy it is to walk to both venues and shops. The rooms are described as clean and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like tea and coffee-making facilities. Reviewers also appreciate the calming ambiance after lively nights out.

Areas for Improvement

Parking can be tricky—there are only 18 on-site spots available on a first-come, first-served basis, and they’re charged at £20 for 24 hours. Some guests mention that the hotel’s historic structure means not all rooms are the same size or layout, but most agree this adds charm.

The Bottom Line

With timeless style, a prime location, and walkable access to Leeds’ top music venues, The Met Hotel Leeds is a top pick for concert-goers who want comfort and convenience wrapped in heritage.

We paid 59 pounds for a pretty good room and breakfast. Can't fault anything for that price. Would definitely use again. Really close to Leeds Academy.

Liked: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Holly on reception was particularly good.

Passable

Liked: Size of room and bathroom
Disliked: No air conditioning and no fan supplied on an extremely hot day. Windows also only opened a small amount.

Liked: Nice location and a historic building with lovely architecture. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive on arrival.
Disliked: The room was too small. There was quite a lot of renovation work going on when we stayed so didn’t really see or have the full experience.

Liked: Great location
Disliked: Very noisy , refurbishing hotel , but we were put in a room right next to where work was being done . Also woken at 4.30 am by the dustbin men .

Wouldn’t come back

Liked: Friendly staff
Disliked: The room was in a disgusting state - holes in the bedsheets, disgusting marks in the shower, massive crack across the sink. Room generally in a shabby state, poor level of cleanliness throughout. Hotel is undergoing renovations, but clearly this room has not been done and has been left in a terrible state. Overall, not a pleasant experience.

I’m sure it will be...

Liked: The staff and the location. Quite close to the station
Disliked: It’s under refurb and really needs it. I was told that room service stops at 10. I called just after 9.30 and was told the kitchen closed at 9.30. At breakfast the glass I had just poured orange juice into fell apart and juice spilt everywhere. The bottom layer of the glass became unstuck from the top. I was scared to use another glass in case that happened to another glass. I just poured my juice into a mug instead. To op it off the fire alarm went off during the remainder of breakfast. Everyone had to evacuate the building, Apart from that, the staff were lovely. I’m sure that things will be better when the refurbishment is complete.
