I would not ever ever stay here again! The website is absolutely false advertising. It's empty - nothing works; extremely creepy! Only a light worked in the room - no clocks at all; couldn’t use the shower (not that I would recommend doing that anyway!); no towels; no nothing! It was half clean in the room. This hotel should be closed down in the current condition it's in and should most definitely refund a persons money when you get there as the the website portrays a wonderful place with amenities and this does not have any!
Liked: Walking distance to the Canada Life Centre.
Disliked: Everything.

Very casual at the Marlborough - I liked that. The old world charm of the hotel. The cleanliness was superb. The staff at the desk were so helpful. Our room was very spacious. More than big enough to get an extra cot in the room. My son hurt his leg and a security personnel brought us a cane to use for the rest of our stay. The complimentary breakfast is the best I ever had, and very good service. Rooms were really clean every day. For one who would only expect a very fancy hotel and small rooms and a high price tag this place is not for you. When you enter, it has a lot of beautiful hardwood and there is a nice bar you can enter from the main floor. The only drawback is there is no parking for the hotel itself. You must pay a price at the parking lots across the street - you have a couple of choices. Smack in viewing distance to all the concert theatres and a multi theatre cinema, and a 2 minute walk to the MTS Centre for the Jets hockey. You cannot ask for more. For an older hotel and a good price downtown do not pass this one up.
Liked: Very nice stay.
Disliked: They do not have their own parking lot.

Wouldn't stay here again. It's not because I'm pretentious it's due to the fact this hotel services indigent population. Our water was brown coming out of the faucet. No one is paying attention to this property and it's visibly worn out. Price and location is good for concert venues but the fact that I had to check in while watching a drunk next to me in the lobby with his zipper down and had urinated on himself was a joke. This place needs to set standards that will attract repeat bookings.
Liked: Nice staff. Close to venues.
Disliked: Worn out lobby, decor; clientele indigent drunks.

It was close to MTS which is where I was headed! My room was outdated and the elevator was really slow. I liked that we received free breakfast with our stay, and the bed was comfy. We couldn't get the AC to work though.
Liked: Location; food.
Disliked: Outdated rooms; restaurant hours.

The rooms were very sketchy. The minute I walked in, I felt dirty and didn't even want to set my bags on the floor. Prime example of a roach motel. The bed was an old spring bed mattress which made it very uncomfortable. The shower was either ice cold or boiling hot as I was standing there with soap in my eyes trying to make adjustments to the faucet. Never did and after 30 minutes in the shower, I gave up, still feeling dirty. Would never in a million years recommend this hotel to anyone ever.
