Liked: Fabulous hotel - lovely friendly, helpful staff, great big room with a sofa and kitchen. No problem when I asked for a late checkout. I loved the complimentary wine and cheese hour at 5-6pm, which was a great chance to meet and chat with other guests. Croissants, muffins etc were for sale for breakfast and reasonably priced. I thoroughly recommend this place.
Disliked: Only downside is that there's no full breakfast service, but they had all that I needed.

Doubt I'll stay again.
Liked: Staff friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Had to park a block away. Paid $32 for overnight garage parking.Listened to across street rooftop club music (on a Tuesday) until eleven at night.Old, small and very slow elevator's Fifth floor view of the sidewalk to enter building flanked by two walls.

Our stay at Mark Spencer...
Liked: Bedding was comfortable. Location is convenient to Powell's Books and within walking distance of decent bars and restaurants. I was allowed an early check-in which was unexpected. The in-room robes were plush.
Disliked: While we were offered that early check-in, we found that the floors in the room had not been cleaned. There was a man's sock by the bed and the product from a broken compact all over the bathroom floor. I alerted the front desk on our way out on Wednesday AND on Thursday when the bathroom was finally cleaned. On Saturday morning at 5am sharp, there was what sounded like nightclub music blasting somewhere nearby. It continued for three hours. Could have been some cool Portland thing, but it also could have been one of the many homeless and drug-addled people living in the neighborhood. Their website mentions a business center with computer, but that does not exist. The wine hour was a cranky bellcaptain pouring from a white bottle or a red bottle with a pile of precut cheese cubes.
