A Very Mixed Experience

Liked: Our bedroom was remarkably spacious, featuring an exceptionally comfortable bed. The bathroom was equally impressive in its generous scale, with a luxurious bath and an outstanding shower. We were also delighted by the small details; the provided amenities, from the shampoo to the shower gel, were all of a very high quality, and the inclusion of a Dyson hairdryer was a fantastic, premium touch."
Disliked: We were disappointed that we could not be accommodated within the main hotel building due to ongoing wedding events. Although the alternative room we were assigned was beautifully appointed, we found it to be covered in a considerable amount of dust and cobwebs. Most concerningly, there was a persistent and unpleasant odour like sewage in the bathroom. The room did not have a minibar or fridge. It did not have aircon. Breakfast is not good and costly.

It was magical we enjoyed...

Liked: We had a lovely stay! The room was spacious and very comfortable, perfect for relaxing. The bathroom was a real highlight — beautifully designed, with both a luxurious bathtub and a modern walk-in shower. We also enjoyed exploring the area around the hotel; it’s a charming village that’s great for peaceful walks and discovering local spots. Would definitely recommend!
Disliked: The hotel has a michelin star restaurant, which looked fantastic, but it’s quite expensive for casual or family dining. It would have been nice to have more affordable choices either on-site or nearby.

The experience doesn't live up...

Liked: The hotel's facade is charismatic, evoking an old English town. We enjoyed a very brief stroll around the grounds, as the exterior is full of charm and character.
Disliked: This hotel’s charm ends at its facade. The common areas and rooms themselves are disappointingly cramped and outdated; with just two suitcases open, the limited square footage leaves you navigating strenuously around your luggage to reach the bed or bathroom. The lack of adequate space is unjustifiable given the price of the room. The room had a dusty smell that triggered coughing. Each guest is allotted just one small tin of water per day, a gesture that falls far short of common 5-star expectations. The limited staffing results in limited conveniences with them failing to juggle several hats. While most of the staff was warm and accommodating, one front desk interaction stood out as cold and unprofessional. If you must stay here, avoid extending your visit; the surrounding town is extremely small and can be explored in minutes with zero restaurants walking distance. During our stay, the only nearby coffee shop was closed.
