The Manor at Sway - Hotel Restaurant and Gardens

Ideal for our purpose -...

Liked: Location was excellent for our purpose.
Disliked: The appearance was generally tired. Internal decor had been done but woodwork etc needed attention. Pleasant Young staff who did their best. Good breakfast. Did at times feel like the Mari Celeste!

Excellent once breakfast service and...

Liked: We were upgraded to a really lovely room - very spacious, tastefully decorated with a superb bathroom, nice garden views. Staff were courteous and helpful. Very dog friendly. Excellent location for both New Forest and coast. Nice and large rewilded gardens with terrace looking out over.
Disliked: Our stay was let down by breakfast. Almost 30 minutes from ordering to arriving of cooked part despite only 3 couples staying. Toast, croissant and coffee which arrived soon were cold by then. Omelet was paper thin, crisped to brown on the outside, little taste and consistency of newspaper. Sausages burnt to charcoal on one side. Sad, because everything else was excellent.

Liked: The manor was very comfortable and in lovely grounds. The staff were very helpful and responsive to any request or question. A very nice breakfast was included either full English or Continental or both. Would definitely stage again.
Disliked: The hotel played music constantly, in dinig and lounging areas,which, to our ears, was too loud and not really in keeping with the quiet country surroundings. However, staff did turn the volume down somewhaton on request. Of course, this is a matter of personal taste and others may have a different view.

Liked: Great Central place to stay for the New Forest. We had a bike show at Sammy Millers also convenient for there. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Would stay again.

An interesting place to stay

Liked: It all went very well thank you. And we liked the hotel and the area.
Disliked: The only thing was at breakfast. I ordered a yoghurt and cooked breakfast, but the yoghurt was not brought until the cooked breakfast was brought. Also we weren't aware before arrival that we were on the 2nd floor with no lift. As we are over 70, we would have appreciated that information, and possibly the chance to have a room on the 1st floor
