Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that while rooms are stylish, a few feel slightly compact. Others noted that the hotel’s location is a bit of a walk from the city center—but many see that as a plus for avoiding post-concert noise.

Nice hotel, some staff could...

Liked: Convenient location CleanLarge room
Disliked: Water took ages to get hot so shower was running for 10 minutes before could get in it, not very powerful shower. Wouldn’t even attempt to try fill the bath.Reception staff were lovely.Male in charge of breakfast was very abrupt we went to breakfast at least half hour before it finished and were told we could help ourselves from buffet and sit anywhere we wanted Because it was near the end! No mention of ordering anything off the menu, we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience. We were staying for 3 nights to attend a festival and on the 3rd night after returning at 11pm we went into the bar for a drink which we were told was closed and we should wait at reception so we did then we were told “No point standing there, sit down somewhere and we will get to you” There was no where to sit and most people sitting in reception already had a drink but yet the 2 staff went around to all these people first then a man went in and got served in the bar so I followed him in only to be told very abruptly that “we are not serving in here!”, yet the man was being served? And that we would be served in reception, at that stage we had been waiting half an hour for a drink so I said would it be on time for breakfast to which the staff member got very annoyed and I went back to reception, he still went serving others until eventually someone else pointed out that we had been waiting ages. Twice I told him what I would like to drink and he brought the wrong mixer (on purpose?) but at this stage I just drank it and then probably 10 minutes after this they reopened the bar for drinks orders! Whilst I understand that there may be rules around licensing why didn’t they say it would reopen eventually? And there was 2 staff and not that many guests it was just they kept going back to same tables for orders and ignoring us. We were then informed that people get annoyed waiting and 5 minutes can feel like 10 but we had waited 30 minutes before I complained.

Dirty rooms, Wifi not working...

Liked: Most of the staff is quite friendly. The location is calm.
Disliked: I was there for a romantic getaway with my girlfriend. Unfortunately the bedrooms are not like they are on the pictures, they are quite dirty with carpeted floors full of stains and cobwebs in the rooms. The Wifi did not work. When we called the reception to report this Wifi problem, the answer was that they are aware of this problem but it should be improved the next day. When the next day the problem was still not fixed, I went to the reception and talked to Aisling, one of the rudest customer service staff I have had to interact with. After asking if there are any concessions for not having Wifi during the stay, she proceeded to gaslight me into saying that there was no Wifi problem and the problem was with my device - even though we tried with 3 different devices and the reception confirmed the problem the day before. And she said that Wifi was not even included in our stay (Booking.com and the information we got during checkin says otherwise). Either way, the dirty rooms I could have forgiven but Aisling's behaviour really pushed me over the edge.
