Absolute shocker.

Liked: The general manager was very helpful and receptive to the extensive feedback which I had to give the following day and did offer a discount for future stays.
Disliked: The sheets had been changed and the towels replaced but the room was otherwise filthy. I arrived too late to complain that night but It hadn't been hoovered and the tops were disgusting. The cleaners hadn't even put in new toilet rolls. The main light didn't turn-off properly and shone dimly throughout the night.n I was kept awake by other guests running around in the middle of the night. I didn't sleep.

Food safety concerns

Liked: Staff were very helpful.
Disliked: Food poisoning from the breakfast. Breakfast was from 7 until 9. I went for breakfast at 7, it was cold. The breakfast was a buffet in buffet trays. The beans were an odd colour and cold, the mushrooms were cold and with some strange white film on them, the bacon was tepid...it was horrible. The only warm item was the tattie scones, but they were only warm, not hot. I ate little as I became increasingly concerned about food safety, unfortunately I ate enough to make me unwell later in the day.

It was like a London...

Liked: Booking in was OK, but overwhelmed by the noise from a party going on, We stayed in room 207There was parking spaces. The bed was comfortable.
Disliked: Everything is so out of date by todays standards. The bathroom door was just a grey undercoat, but had obviously been like this for a long time. There was a television but it did not work. When the window was opened it sprung out to practically the full height of the frame. The hairdryer worked but looked like it came out of the 1970's The noise until 4.00am was unbelievable for the guests but how the locals put up with this I have no idea. The security lock on the door did not work. The owners need to rethink their business plan and decide if they want good return business which will help the area or continue on this downhill slope. Everything is available to them but they do not seem to be able to make it work. A hotel should leave you thinking that you would go back, but we really would never ever go back to the Lovat again.
