A nice quiet place to...

Liked: I always stay here when on business in Newbury. I like that it is so quiet so I can go to bed and wake up fresh for the next day. Breakfast is wonderful and the staff are lovely. Nice mattress in a well equipped room for a short stay. Kettle and tea/coffee in the room, and a fan, hairdryer and multiple charging points. I also a appreciate the thick heavy curtains and parking out front/ taxi service on auto-dial in reception. The bar is also open til late downstairs in the restaurant.

Liked: Staff were friendly and helpful, it was clean and mostly quiet. Bar area is nice for a drink.Wifi is included (for 8 hours? i assume it resets) free, service was ok for streaming
Disliked: "extra large bed" is actually two large doubles pushed together but with an egregious gap in the middle making it uncomfortable, the room was clean but very sparsly equipped - a single side table with a few teabags and a (oddly large and overspecced) phone and a footstool are all you get aisde from the bed so the chances of doing any work or any life admin from the room is next to impossible. Shower was hot albeit the complimentary body wash had run out, a minor complaint but still frustrating. Food was another negative, it isnt bad but it doesnt match the price. Breakfast area was sparse but serviceable.
