Liked: We were racing the evening we stayed so the location was perfect the room was perfect with a view of the racecourse entrance..
Disliked: Breakfast was very poor there was only one member of staff tending all the tables and she was very busy ?

Liked: Reception staff very welcoming and sorted the room problem immediately (see below).
Disliked: The room that we were booked into had not been cleaned after the last guest left. We were immediately changed to a different room without hesitation and many apologies.

Great Value - Great Location
Liked: A very modern, friendly and smart hotel. The rooms aren?t small, it?s the beds that are so big!! The cooked breakfast comes highly recommended! Loads of free parking and just a 10 min walk into central Newbury - I?ll be back again!

Liked: Clean, friendly and professional staff
Disliked: The room was small, so if you need to work, or stay for several days, the lack of space would be an issue

Travelodge at a luxury price
Liked: The location would have been excellent for the racing if only the restaurant was good enough.
Disliked: This is a glorified Travelodge but at a premium price. Our supposedly superior double room was in no way worth £165 for the night. The room was cramped and had little in the way of storage. A friend booked a standard room for £75 just the day before so we feel royally ripped off.The dining experience was extremely poor. The menu was limited to say the least and various items were then not available! The serving staff were quite surly. The girl who brought out the food however did have some idea of customer service. If this hotel wants to attract the likes of owners staying over after the races it needs to up its game big time.
