More of a pricey VRBO than a hotel/lodge.

Liked: The property is lovely. Our room was gracious and large with laundry and a kitchen and a living area and veranda. The food was excellent. And the clubhouse and pool areas were casual but elegant.
Disliked: To call itself a hotel/lodge is not accurate. It is really a private club with homes on the property that get rented. Hotels (or lodges) are not closed one day a week and this is. This is not a highly populated area. So it makes sense that people who own homes here and come with their families might want to cook meals in their homes. But we were there for 4 days, expecting a hotel room, and couldnt make any dinner reservations at the lodge 2 of the 4 nights. We ended up eating at the bar or getting placed in an empty indoor room, away from windows. This seemed like poor management, frankly. We wouldnt recommend it or go back. The price was absurd for the lack of amenities.
