Hotel Description
Located adjacent to Duke University campus, this Durham hotel features an on-site restaurant and spacious rooms with free WiFi. Duke Medical Center and VA Medical Center are within 7 minutes' walk or less. We are located just steps from Duke University Hospital, The Duke Eye Center, The Duke Cancer Center and many other Duke Medical facilities. Our shuttle transports our guests to all of these locations, operating Monday through Friday from 7am - 7pm. Breakfast is served each morning (for a fee) and the hotel offers a bar with a light menu in the evenings at this boutique The Lodge at Duke Medical Center restaurant. American cuisine and a variety of beverages are offered. Free access to the fitness center and business center is provided to all guests of the The Lodge at Duke Medical Center. Shuttle service to nearby attractions is also free. The hotel also offers 492 square feet of meeting space for small events. Free parking is also provided for all guests. A cable TV, coffee machine, and refrigerator as well as a microwave are standard in every simply furnished room. All rooms have a hardwood floor, faux brick accents, and a private bathroom with free toiletries. Raleigh-Durham International Airport is a 20 minutes' drive from The Lodge at Duke Medical Center. Very convenient location to the...

Liked: Comfortable Room
Disliked: Window side of bedside table had outlets and USB that did not function.Eighth floor did not include an ice machine.Seventh floor ice machine did not work at the time of our visit.We got ice for the room at the sixth floor ice machine.I booked the room for my brother. He is a 26 year Air Force service veteran. We should have been given the veteran rate. The afternoon / evening clerk would not allow us to do that. We paid the online rate.

Convenient, fantastic staff, comfortable facility.

Liked: The staff (including front desk, maintenance, housekeeping, breakfast and shuttle driver) went the extra mile, absolutley no complaints. All of them went out of their way to be polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable, The location was perfect for our needs, a very short walk to the Duke Medical Center facility. Would stay here again due to staff.
Disliked: The facility was dishelved just a bit. Surprised breakfast wasn't provided as a perk (I did know this beforehand) and wished there was a fitness center. Parking is tight, but you can find a place if you are patient. Housekeeping if your stay is longer than two days would be a nice perk.
