The Lodge at Brainerd Lakes Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Appalling.

Liked: Breakfast was located in a restaurant attached by walkway to hotel. It was complementary and consisted of the usual breakfast fare. No issues.
Disliked: I can’t express how shocked and disgusted we were at the uncleanliness of our room and hotel in general. We were allowed entry to room at 4 p.m. Room had thick dust on every surface, carpet had crumbs of food and lint everywhere, bathroom vent was coated in dust. Hallways had thick dust along entire edges and crumbs/debris everywhere. We lacked kleenex, and tv remote and later discovered no shampoo in shower bottle which necessitated in multiple calls to front desk. Manager stated they were booked and couldn’t move us to another 2-bedroom room. She asked us to leave for 20 minutes and would have someone clean our room. Upon returning, we found a hair band on floor next to one of the beds. So much for a thorough vacuuming.We were told we’d get a reduction in the room rate upon checking out but at check out, the front desk person - with large satanic tattoos on hus/her forearms - took our phone number and said they’d be in touch. No communication/follow-up 2 since. Color me shocked. The waterpark needed much repair. Rusting stairs and several areas of torn and lifted flooring around edge of pool potentially causing a trip hazard. Staff was alerted but showed no concern. Pool towels were never stocked: we kept having to ask for them. No lifeguard at waterslide on Sunday.On our way out, housekeeping staff was having an argument in the hallway. (Shaking my head.)This is a Wyndham property and the lodge decor was nice but we will NEVER stay here again. If we had had any other option to find another place we would have left immediately.
