The Local Hostel NYC

Very good

Liked: The location is outside of Manhattan but in a really nice area, the common areas are great, the facilities were pretty clean for a hostel and the bed is comfortable.
Disliked: The staff is really, really off, both at reception and at the bar/café. It often felt like they were doing you a favor instead of actually providing a service. Also, the shower is very small and the water pressure points towards the wall, making it quite tricky to have a proper shower - to wash your feet, you literally have to lift your legs because the water only hit half of your head. The room is also quite small.

Liked: location, friendly staff, The surronding were very nice, lots of restaurants in the area and easy access from different metro lines
Disliked: Nothing in particular

Liked: The staff and lobby were excellent but otherwise just a decent place to stay. Close to the subway but far from anything that interesting.
Disliked: It felt like the shower was not cleaned in a long while and location is a bit out the way.
