Liked: Very conveniently located to the amphitheater (only 1.4 miles away, and right on the same road as the amphitheatre). The bathrooms were obviously newly remodeled. Nice shower, toilet, and vanity. The room has a microwave and fridge in it. The bed was fairly comfortable. Also, we were able to park right outside our room. Front desk staff were friendly.
Disliked: The room we had was pretty small (one bed, 1 chair, 1 nightstand), but it was fine for two people. The hotel is located on a pretty busy road, so you can hear the traffic going by from inside the room. It doesn't have much atmosphere or any kind of view, but if you are looking for a clean room that is close to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and reasonably priced, this will fit the bill.

Liked: If you are looking for somewhere to simply just sleep, this is a great place. Nothing lavish, but exactly what you need for a quick stay in St. Augustine.

Clean and comfortable room -...
Liked: The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable enough. I liked that there was a small fridge and microwave. Everything about the room was about what you'd expect for the price. A nice perk is that it is right next door to a Mellow Mushroom, which is a fun place to eat and drink, and they sometimes have live music. It's also very close to a Circle K, which you're going to need to hit for coffee if you have trouble functioning in the morning without a caffeine buzz.
Disliked: Even though I checked in before 5:00pm, the lobby was completely inaccessible, and there was a sign to ring the night bell. When I did, a woman answered through a plexiglass window with a small sliding door to take my drivers license. She was not the least bit welcoming or friendly. She abruptly handed me my receipt, explained how to use the key card, and gave me the internet password. Oh well... the room was okay. The biggest drawback for me was that there was no coffeemaker in the lobby or in the room. I had expected there to be one in the lobby, but as mentioned, the doors were locked, and there was not a coffeemaker in sight. Also, and this is not the fault of the hotel really, but I was awakened twice during the night - at 2:00am and 3:00am - by a very noisy group of people who were all speaking and laughing loudly right outside my door. It sounded like they were all trying to talk over each other, at the top of their voices. They went away for awhile and then came back again. If the Lion Inn had a front desk that you could call to complain, it might have been a less frustrating experience.

clean room, friendly staff, great...
Liked: clean room, friendly staff, great location
Disliked: bedding quality - it wasn't bad. IMO just a few dollars more spent could make a better difference.
