Centrally located (opposite Southend Central station), close to the high street and seafront. Very nice, large room above pub with access through bar during opening-time. Check in from 2pm, check out at 11am was good for a leisurely stay. Beautifully clean and nicely decorated room, HD TV, tea and coffee, iron and ironing board in wardrobe, bath and shower in bathroom all contributed to the feel of a luxury hotel that I wasn't expecting, as it's a Wetherspoons hotel that offers reasonable pricing for a Friday night. Access to rooms by speaking to bar staff and paging a manager to check you in. Good alternative to Travelodge/Premier Inn.

Liked: Large room with enough eye for detail in the decor to give feeling of luxury at reasonable price.
Disliked: Difficult to get through on the phone to speak to hotel staff with questions about parking.

Liked: Room was very clean and shower was great, lovely and warm.Although we didn't use it, it was a nice touch having hot drinks and water.

Liked: Enjoyable stay, great pub, clean room, comfy bed/,pillows. Member of staff Violet was very accommodating, after a long journey found us a table by the fire for our evening meal. A big thankyou to her. . Will definitely stop here again next time we have a concert.

Great stay in a lovely...

Liked: The hotel was in an ideal location. Ten minutes walk from the beach and twenty minutes walk from Cliffs Pavillion. The room was large, very comfy bed, pillows and duvet were really comfy. Air conditioned, very secure with key door entry from the pub to the hotel..The pub was also very nice and staff very pleasant. We ate mostly in the pub on our two day stay. Great choice of breakfast and a good food menu. Prices are amazing as always in a Wetherspoons. Two small fish and chips two side salads and two glasses of wine for under £20.00. Fantastic. Will def be back.
Disliked: There was nothing that I didn’t like. AllI would say is we did have to go up two flights of stairs. Thankfully although we are seniors, we are still fit enough for the stairs.
