Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Michael H, St. Robert, visiting Enterprise Center St. Louis Thu, 16 March 2023

The hotel itself had wonderful decor and the employees were awesome. The bartender was absolutely great. The main problem was first, you put a $200.00 hold on my debit card for "incidentals"? What incidentals? There were no incidentals, no snacks or drinks in the fridge, no room service or food due to everything shutting down so early. So why the hold on my card that has taken 4 days and is still pending? Ridiculous! Not only did the bar close before we returned from the hockey game, but so did the restaurant. Then, the bed was awful. They did not use a fitted sheet, so the bedsheet and the mattress pad kept coming off and bunching up, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. Then, as we were getting ready to leave the room; my wife found a blood stain on one of the sheets. We checked each other thoroughly, and the blood stain did not come from neither my wife or me. So, the atmosphere, the decor and the employees all get 5 stars. The $200.00 hold on my card for non-existent "Incidentals", the bar closing early, room service and restaurant closing early, the uncomfortable bed due to no fitted sheet and mattress pad bunching up, and the blood stain found on the sheet all get 1 star. A little advice, your hotel is in a wonderful location, nice atmosphere, and the employees we met were great. But if you are going to hold $200.00 on a guest's card for non-existent incidentals and you keep closing your food services and bar so early, as well as being cheap on putting fitted sheets on your beds, oh and your housekeeping needs vast improvement with washing sheets and cleaning up spills in rooms... You are not going to be able to sustain your business. I loved the atmosphere, it was like stepping back in time, and the bartender was an awesome person, but the rest was terrible, especially for a place that could be the go to place for visitors and hockey games. You receive a 2 star rating until you can improve on the "Incidental" hold, which is bogus, and the other problems. You could have a great place if you can improve on these problems.

Liked: The atmosphere of the hotel; the decor; the employees were wonderful.
Disliked: The bar closed way too early; the bed was uncomfortable due to the sheet and mattress pad kept coming off, and we found a blood stain on the sheets that did not come from either of us.

I never did stay there,...

Liked: Nothing, I never stayed there. It had been permanently closed several months ago by the time of my arrival.
Disliked: Everything. Specifically the fact that I had to pay another $150 at a motel not even in St. Louis, about 15-20 minutes away, to even have a place to sleep for the night.

Hideous

Liked: The property had been shut down for months and booking.com nevertheless collected the money and never knew it was closed - or worse, knew and kept the money. I had to find accommodations at 2am in a dangerous part of town with my daughter. I have since tried to get my money back from booking.com but no one takes responsibility. Terrible experience.
Disliked: Booking.com is clearly unawRe of what happens with the properties it markets. Terrible customer service.

What stay? It’s closed

Liked: Breakfast how do you get breakfast at a hotel that’s closed? I normally don’t write reviews, but I feel people need to know what is going on.
Disliked: As I previously had stated when I attempted to contact booking about this reservationThe hotel closed sometime in March when you call the phone number you get no answer. I had attempted to rectify this with booking as your site allowed a confirmation number to a hotel that had been closed more than six weeks when I made my reservation.. That confirmation number or reservation should’ve never happened. My bank account should’ve never been charged so I’m very disappointed.. Luckily, a friend heard that the hotel had closed otherwise I would’ve gotten out of a seminar tired prepared to go lay down only to find out I had nowhere to sleep.

Did stay the hotel is...

Liked: The hotel is closed and I want a full refund
Disliked: The hotel is closed, no longer in business and should not be on your website to book anything. I want a full refund for the reservation I made at this hotel and I want the other room I had to hurry and find paid for. The whole experience was absolutely horrible and terrible on booking.com’s end
