Disappointing

Liked: Restaurants/cafes were high quality
Disliked: For a 5-star hotel, the Langham didn't feel premium. I didn't feel that one of the front desk staff had much local knowledge, or demonstrated much interest in helping me out when I had questions. Also, everything about the hotel felt dirty. The indoor/outdoor pool areas were filthy. I didn't feel relaxed at all in those environments. Especially with kids splashing about throwing their soft drinks in the water. Gross. The actual hotel room was not much better. Despite being a new-ish hotel, it felt tired. My room had a weird musty smell. The shower had orange mould at the base. There were Diptyque bottles in the bathroom - which I can 100% assure you were not filled with Diptyque. This really annoyed me, as all the other premium hotels have Byredo, Le Labo, Davines or Diptyque and they fill the bottles accordingly. How dumb must they think the guests are. I couldn't close the balcony door properly in the room either, it's like the doors didn't match up properly. I also noticed there were stains on the curtains, and most disgustingly, my bedsheets and I felt violated climbing into the bed at night.All of the above would have been fine if I wasn't paying $700+ per night for a room. At these inflated rates everything needs to be perfect, and small details do matter. I was expecting a luxurious and sophisticated holiday but I thought that the hotel felt cheap and poorly maintained. I'm really disappointed.

Luxurious, well appointed, great location...

Liked: Everything. The room was spacious and well appointed. The view was superb. The bathroom and bedroom was beautiful. Absolutely loved the onsite Asian restaurant and the service was 5 star. The pool is phenomenal as is the beach access. We will definitely be back.
Disliked: Nothing it was all fantastic

Langham goldcoast 4th of July...

Liked: The location, and people who worked for langham. They seem very proud of their job. Plenty of towels.
Disliked: The shower room in the sauna has not been fixed. Small carpark.

Overall it was overpriced and...

Liked: The view was incredible, good location and room was clean and nice looking.
Disliked: The service did not feel luxury compared to other hotels I have stayed at (for a portion of the price). I didn’t feel the service staff at reception or the pool/bar were very friendly or provided the luxury hotel service feel. The pool is quite small and covered in shade almost all of the day due to the building towering over it. It is not set up in a very usable way so you are sitting in the shade, squished on the edge of the pool. The Jewel Residence felt very disconnected to the hotel. The staff at the pool and pool bar were not very friendly or helpful. In the room, the cutlery and cookware was only two of each thing (two forks etc). I know the room is books for 2 but it seems abit extreme and meant you had to wash up after every use. The lounge and outdoor lounge in the room were extremely uncomfortable - rock hard! I was really looking forward to a luxury escape to celebrate my 30th but I would not return.

Beautiful location with kind and...

Liked: All the staff we came across were welcoming, polite and friendly - as well as very encouraging of all of the marathon participants. They were understanding of some delays to check-out times due to travel delays returning from the marathon precinct.
Disliked: Nothing I can think of. Everyone was very kind and helpful.

Exceptional

Liked: No notes, this was hands down the best experience we have had. Every single interaction with staff was so lovely and I mean every staff member. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and looked after.

Had a wonderful stay and...

Liked: Wonderful facilities, the room was exceptional with everything you could want available either in your room or a phone call away. Wonderful views. Pools fabulous spa, saunas all exceptional. Staff very friendly and accessible. Restaurants exceptional.
Disliked: Can’t think of anything negative. Prices all high for alcohol but close enough to walk to a bottle shop if you want something cheaper
