The Lanes Hotel

The woman and man that met us were friendly and so helpful, directing us to a great restaurant with very reasonable prices! The history of the hotel is evident and I felt comfortable staying at that lovely place.

Liked: The close knit working relationship was evident throughout our stay.
Disliked: Nope, nothing bad.

Awful

Liked: Location was ok but it was like walking into faulty towers, staff were friendly enough, but room 105 was basic with a damp bathroom that had no tiles around the sink and toilet which was boxed in with damp ply that housed centipedes underneath, we cut our stay short by one night as our daughters were not happy going into the bathroom.
Disliked: The room was dreadful, not very clean with a terrible bathroom that was so poor and unhygienic ,Hotel won’t even respond to the concerns sent in emails to advise of how unhappy we were with the room

Pleasant, charming if slightly dated...

Liked: The staff were lovely and went above and beyond to accommodate our terminally ill father, who was stating with us. They were unfailingly helpful and did everything they could to help with our stressful and difficult situation. The prices were reasonable and the location, right near Brighton pier, was ideal
Disliked: Little bit dated and not the best facilities.

Only really wanted room to...

Liked: Our room had a perfect view of the beach and sea.
Disliked: Lack of sockets, lack of surface space and nowhere to put things when having a shower, lack of space in wardrobe and no drawers anywhere.

It was ok

Liked: Location great! Cleaning staff are lovely and it's a clean hotel. Rooms are a good size.
Disliked: The TV only had BBC and the shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold. No Ice in the bar despite it being boiling hot.

Great little gem

Liked: The staff were amazing - super helpful and friendly. The location was perfect, loved the sea views from the window. Would definitely come back again.

Superb

Liked: The hotel is central, we were able to walk around easily, the beach is just across the road. Sainsbury and Morrisons are just 12min walk away, restaurants and bars are very close by. The staff were very friendly, and helpful especially Mike at reception. I loved the Double room with the balcony, the views were beautiful. It was so quiet in the night, no noise. We extended our stay which meant changing rooms, we were moved to a family room downstairs. This room was very big (3 double beds with a chaise) in one room. We sure loved our stay at The Lanes Hotel
Disliked: The lifts don't work, Wi-Fi doesn't work on the 3rd floor, the noise from the room above the family room makes it uncomfortable to sleep.

Reasonable hotel but not suitable...

Liked: The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, the room was big and reasonably comfortable, good location
Disliked: Very limited parking, hard to find parking nearby, hotel for some has a no bike policy so I had to leave my bike in the car overnight - perfect location for London to Brighton ride but wouldn't stay again due to the policy
