The bar is perfect for a nightcap, and with a fridge in every room, you can keep your own snacks and drinks chilled. Nightlife Options

While The Lake House focuses more on relaxation, it’s a short drive to Canandaigua’s bars and lounges for post-show drinks. The hotel bar itself offers a curated list of wines, craft cocktails, and lakeside views for a more low-key vibe. You might even catch local musicians performing live in the area or at nearby venues.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s beautiful lake views, friendly staff, and modern rooms. Many highlight the peaceful atmosphere and say it's a great place to unwind after a busy night. The hot tub and fire pits are especially popular with those looking to relax. Reviewers consistently mention how clean and stylish the property is, and how close it is to both natural attractions and entertainment.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that room rates can be on the higher side, especially during peak weekends. While the hotel’s calm setting is a plus for many, those looking for a livelier scene may need to venture into town. Limited walkable nightlife means a short drive or rideshare is needed after events.

Beautiful property on the water...

Liked: The property itself is stunning. Very cozy, modern, and in a great location right on the water. It’s walking distance to restaurants and bars which we found very convenient. We parked for the weekend and didn’t have to worry about driving. One day we walked to a bar on Main Street for lunch and it started raining. We texted the hotel and asked if a shuttle could pick us up. Within 15 min John from the hotel arrived and picked up our group of 8 and took us back to the hotel. What an amazing customer experience! We really appreciated that and John even gave us a little tour of the town. There are great amenities, bars, and restaurants right on the property as well. We visited in the winter time and were very much looking forward to the outdoor heated pool and hot tub. This is a big part of why we booked. Unfortunately, the pool was not heated - it actually wasn’t even open and was covered with a tarp. This was really disappointing and felt like we missed out quite a bit on the full experience. We also booked the saunas at the spa. We booked both saunas for our group of 8. It’s not cheap - about $700USD. Unfortunately the sauna was not very hot at all. There was a draft coming through the seams and we had to constantly put water on the rocks to try and keep it warm. By the end of the hour it was finally sort of hot but not the experience we wanted. The spa and the sauna are beautiful however. They offer some light snacks and teas which is nice. The waiting area is great and the change rooms have nice products for your skin and hair. Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed the library bar and drinks, lunch at the sand bar, and dinner at Nolan’s which is just at the entrance of the parking lot. Nolan’s was great, definitely recommend it for dinner. The staff are generally really great.
Disliked: Amenities were closed. They offer a glass of prosecco at check-in (which is nice) and I even texted ahead of time to make sure this was still offered and it’s a nice way to kick off the vacation and it was confirmed. When we arrived I had to awkwardly ask 3 times for it before it was finally poured. It took 30 min it was quite strange. Saunas not hot.
