Sharlene, Philadelphia, visiting Booth Theatre Sun, 3 June 2018
Liked: It was a good location for going to the theater and dinner. Not too far from Penn Station. The room and bathroom were spacious. Good breakfast.
Disliked: The room was not well lit. Hallways monochromatic and dark. Not a fan of the "modern" look hotels have been adopting.

Was expecting more but instead...
Liked: Excellent location
Disliked: You can hear the elevator and all noises in the hallway from your room. Really had poor sleep because of that. Staff could be at times condescending. Except concierge was phenomenal in service and hospitality.

Very good location
Liked: Location was good. Room very comfortable.
Disliked: Staff were not particularly friendly. At check in and out they sat behind a large screen so difficult to see their face or to hear. No information in room or anywhere regarding times of meals, complimentary drink, or how to set do not disturb on door. Hotel had lovely history but decor of hotel did not show this.

If we stay in Manhattan,...
Liked: Whenever we return to Manhattan, this is where we make home base. The Knick is great for many reasons! No. 1: You get more square footage here than at a lot of other NY hotels. It's also a very nice hotel, with great restaurant/rooftop bar, and coffee shop. The only downside (in my own opinion) is that it's "in" Times Square, but it's also close to other great things, like Bryant Park, a Whole Foods, great coffee shops, and subway line to take you anywhere. Not far from Grand Central either.

A quiet, clean oasis in...
Liked: First, this hotel is in the heart of Times Square and right on one of the most convenient subway interchange stations...yet feels completely removed from the crowds and craziness of Times Square.Second, from the check-in clerk, to the room service delivery person, to the evening elevator attendant, to the luggage storage crew...and especially the concierge, who helped me with multiple restaurant recommendations...the staff was personable, professional, and seemed truly happy to help.
Disliked: I honestly can't think of anything that I didn't like.
