There was no natural ventilation except for a non-functional skylight. The air conditioning unit, which was our only source of airflow, emitted a strong smell of cigarette smoke and appeared to be poorly maintained. The stale air significantly affected my partner, who suffers from asthma, leading to a sleepless night and deterioration in his health.Furthermore, the bathroom ventilation was not working, resulting in heavy condensation and visible mold on the ceiling. The shaving mirror was rusted, indicating long-standing hygiene issues. Several electrical fixtures were also faulty: the bedside table lights were not functioning, and one had an improvised bulb replacement that posed an electric shock risk. The TV was also malfunctioning—my partner had to lift it away from the wall just to switch it off, which nearly caused it to fall on him, especially dangerous given the tight space between the bed and the wall.We reported these concerns to the hotel staff and requested to be moved to another room, but our request was denied. With no resolution offered, we had no choice but to check out the next morning so my partner could seek medical attention and access his inhaler. We found alternative accommodation at a lower price that met acceptable health and safety standards—highlighting just how inadequate our experience at the Kings Head Hotel was.Given the serious health risks and the hotel’s failure to provide even the most basic standards of cleanliness and safety, I believe a full refund is warranted.

Very bad experience, not great...

Liked: Nothing. Everything about the place was really poor and appears quite shady/doggy!
Disliked: The location itself as a whole, the location of the room (which was supposed to be an executive suite) within the property was facing right onto the main road/street with so much traffic noise, curtains/blinds were falling apart with little to no privacy because of the way the windows were facing directly onto the main road outside and further complicated by the fact that the blinds/curtains could not be drawn closely together, it keeps falling apart leaving wide gaps for direct sunlight reflections in the day and street lights from the main road at night and they had to come and use pins to stich them together after I complained on the first night. There was an in-house Pub downstairs directly below my room where so much noise was constantly coming from because they've got some sort of live band playing which further created so much disturbances for my entire stay period. Very small and doggy reception area with the lone receptionist guy/lady which never took my complaints seriously at any time. The in-room telephone handset also keeps falling apart as the wire keeps falling off from the handle as soon as you pick it up for any attempts to make a call and on the one or two occasions when I managed to keep the wire in place to put a call through to the reception, it only rang and rang and rang with nobody to pick it at the other end. Although I took some pictures but those pictures still can not begin to paint the whole picture of the whole experience. The whole stay was a very poor/bad experience for me, overall. I could not believe this was a place/hotel in London, seriously! I'm sorry I can never recommend this place/hotel.

Horrible and the worst hotel...

Disliked: Room 001 (advertised as room without windows which is perfectly fine) is directly underneath the pub basement (not mentioned on the website). We had drilling and screaming people jumping over our head (karaoke contest in the pub) until almost 02:00 AM. The hotel staff did nothing and refused to call the manager. Booking customer service will not help (comes up with all kind of stupid protocol) and the next morning we demanded the lady behind reception to call the manager and explained we could not sleep all night because of horror noise, after filming the conversation the manager gave in and in the end (after a lot of drama) agreed to reimburse in full through Booking.com, I demanded a written proof in my email. And as I expected the hotel told Booking theyt would only reimburse 2 out of 3 nights, we left the hotel the next morning immediately and booked a different hotel at our own expense(next to the noise the room was covered in black mold and the shower has only freezing cold water). apparently on Google reviews there are real reviews and not fake ones like on Booking.com, and these real ones are confirming all I just mentioned. I will fight with Booking.com and this hotel until I get my promised full reimbursement, but both this hotel and Booking.com have shown to be unreliable parties that leave you rotting away in this madness. Believe me one way or another I will get my money back IN FULL! We have everything filmed and recorded and justice will prevail.
