Liked: Lovely place and not far from the venue we were attending
Disliked: Broken air conditioning unit, not mentioned on check-in and it was 32’ … so would have been great if it had worked

Rude staff

Liked: The gentleman in the bar was fantastic
Disliked: Was unable to sleep as room was very hot, when checked out was informed it's the hottest room as next to boiler,, and was then told people request that room in the winter, not a helpful remarkBut it was extremely disappointing when my husband asked for another drink at breakfast, as you were unable to help yourself to drinks, the waitresses rolled her eyes at him, very rude and totally uncalled for.

Beautiful and comfy

Liked: My friends and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff treated us wonderfully, the hotel is beautiful and clean, food is great and so is the atmosphere at the bar. Coming back again next year.

Disappointing overall

Liked: Good shower, comfy bed, good location, good parking, friendly staff
Disliked: When we booked through Booking.com, the hotel claimed to have an AA Rosette restaurant on site so we booked for a special celebration dinner. The food in their restaurant was ok, but clearly not AA Rosette standard. The wording in the "about this property" description has now been altered and the words 'AA Rosette' have been removed.Not particularly good value for money for the area.

A lovely country pub and...

Liked: All the staff at the hotel were very friendly. When we arrived we were personally taken to our room where the staff had left us a box of chocolates and a card in celebration of our 35th Wedding Anniversary. The room was large with a queen size bed and 2 high back chairs in a "cowhide" print. Breakfast was a sit down affair (no buffet) with a choices of eggs and full English with plenty of tea and coffee. We had dinner in the hotel on 2 evenings and on both occasions there was a good selection and very enjoyable. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely go back.
Disliked: There is no lift in the hotel so suitcases had to be carried up stairs however they did tell us in advance and there was the offer of help if we so required.
