Liked: Picture of room and hotel looks good. Love the view of the windmill opposite bedroom window.
Disliked: The decorations of the pub are old fashioned, dark, and the carpet was worn out. The dining room felt unwelcome and cold. The bed duvets are too small for a double bed and the pillows are hard and lumpy. When I looked up the reviews about the bar and restaurant, they said they were nearby, but they are about 10-15 mins walk. They repeatedly closed the bar early at 10.50pm and 10.20pm because there wasn’t enough customers, just 2 of us relaxed at the bar area. They asked us to leave early instead of at 12.

A good pub with comfortable...

Liked: This community pub (clearly used by locals) has a great location, looking out onto a working windmill, on the edge of town, but an easy walk (less than 10 minutes) to the town centre. There are local shops, and the town park is a little over 5 minutes away by foot. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable, and the coffee machine was welcome. The accommodation is elegant and well maintained, and the rooms are surprisingly large - this looks like a small pub from the outside, but strangely feels much larger inside! We had a good breakfast. There is ample on-site parking. There was a general feeling of an establishment undergoing improvement, and moving in an upward direction, which was pleasing.
Disliked: The bathroom was very small, but entirely adequate. Breakfast is a little too early for a family holiday - the breakfast times could do with a review.
